Spiders in Pathfinder?
I'm thinking about getting Pathfinder: Kingmaker, but first, I'd like to know something namely how often Spiders appear in the game. They make me kind of uncomfortable, and if they come up too often it could really ruin my gaming experience.

So how often do they come up? I already know about the sidequest where you have to gather the berries and encounter the spider swarms, but how many missions with spiders are there? Are they part of the story or just sidequests that I can skip? And do spiders sometimes appear in random encounters?

Thanks for the help.

Spiders aren't really a thing you can effectively avoid unfortunately. They turn up in both main story and side quest areas, as well as in random encounters.

Third chapter of the main quest has a lot of spiders, alas.

Thanks for the quick reply. So do they come up frequently or will they only be there from time to time?

They're not constantly appearing, but when they show up, they tend to show up in numbers.

I'm not going to lie to you. Spider's come up so frequently that 'Communal Delay Poison' is one of the best spells in the game. Because it buffs your whole party against poison and lasts an incredibly long time, you always want it on your party.

Poison is incredibly crippling to your stats and takes days to heal. Even without Arachnaphobia, I hate them on this basis. :P

I hope talking giant spiders don't trigger you either

Let's see...
- Fangspider cave...everyone loves the swarms there
- Spider caves...just what the name says
- Old Sycamore...yep, quite a few down in the depths
- Bald hilltop...sometimes, usually nasty
- On a lone hilltop...a wounded intelligent spider
- Abandoned Keep...a few outside
- Unknown location...hordes of spiders, most with otherworldly defenses
- Probably some more I cannot remember offhand

Delay poison is *the* spell in this game, especially the communal version. Without it there are many crippling encounters, which become trivial when you use it, and not just spiders.

There are a lot of spiders, but for whatever its worth, I don't find them nearly as creepy as the spiders in Dragon Age Origin or Skyrim.

As someone who used to have arachnophobia (And now just has an extreme hatred for spiders), I get it. Spiders suck.

Don't let the fear win though.

No spider made of pixels is even close to a real arachnid sitting half a meter from you.
