On a related note, I feel like that’s one design decision they definitely got right.
Epic levels in d&d always seemed like some kind of weird cheese fest to me. Like a bunch of little kids going “oh yeah?! Well my character can swim up a waterfall!”
The sheer power involved in them also kind-of requires that they be written pretty closely into the plot - the only Pathfinder Adventure Path to use them for the players, Wrath of the Righteous has its first part end with an event that grants the party this source of incredible power.
Besides that there are no hard rules how play continues past level 20 in Pathfinder, only some suggestions in the DMG. For all practical purposes level 20 is the end.
The mythic rules are a bit on the too-much side in my opinion, although there were many good ideas in the book. They are best implemented in the form of an artifact (e.g. Sauron's Ring) that grants certain selected abilities to the wearer instead of the whole thing, imho.
Are those guidelines in the GMing sections of the core book? I don't remember seeing them at all.
But yea, having or being able to experience the equivalent of epic levels in pathfinder when they release the endless dungeon would be fun.
Actually, I am hoping that the endless dungeon has a rogue like mode where you start with 2-4 party members you get to create, or randomize for boons or something.
