Can I sell gems safely?

Hello, are gems like citrine or emerald used for some kind of crafting or I can safely sell them?
Also, is it safe to store items in Oleg's Trading post in the chest upstairs?

You should keep 1 emerald (for a crafter later in the game) and all diamonds. Anything else can be safely sold.
Anything stored in Oleg's chest upstairs is tied to your personal stash and transfers to your bedroom in the capital, after you found your barony, so yes it is safe.

IIRC There might be a quest that requires a Ruby too. In general the tooltip will tell you if you can sell something and the gems pretty much just say to sell them to a merchant. The couple of gems you need for a quests are the exception unfortunately. Pay particular attention to items that talk about be antiques or artifacts (I forget which word it uses), those are for the storyteller. In generally anything that has the yellow halo is significant and I would keep. (Some are leftovers/trophies and can be sold but I never do). The yellow halo is also around the spell materials like diamonds and diamond dust that you need for certain spells. The tooltips will say they are needed for spells. The ones I'm not sure about are things that mention they are for craftsmen in the tool tips like most skins. I /think/ they are sellable cause I've never seen a craftsmen ask for them but I'm paranoid and keep them (or at least a bunch of them, I started selling wolf pelts cause I had so many)

Where can I sell Sycamore relics? Or should I keep them? Just sold emeralds and rubies...I'm just in chapter 2 now, hope to find others of them in the future XD

Kept those sycamore relics & quest items too, haven't had the opportunity to do something with 'em and I'm 2/3 through the game, so... I really doubt it.

For latecomers: artifacts, aka items that have a yellow glow in their icon and whose description speaks about a "collector" or similar go to the "storyteller" which appears in your throneroom. He will buy all relics and also will help you with broken artifacts.

All of the Dryad Tokens, Cyclops Coins, and Rostlandic Coins you find can be sold to Oleg for like 50GP or something, but will sell for more money to a different guy called The Storyteller once you get your barony established.

Save them all til Storyteller I'd say
