Sorry for the one word answer, but it just is. You'll have to find these yourself, but there are a bunch of people who have analyzed this, and extra 5% (10% later) wins out over higher damage dice at around 4-5th level for any martial character (something like 7-8th if you do Vital Strike feats).
This is assuming that you're mean strongest type of 2-handed sword, rather than any specific magical item.

I'm not going to comment on reach since that adds WAAAAAY too many variables.
Also, if you are in a campaign that is absolutely jam-packed with creatures who are immune to Critical Hits (a lot rarer in Pathfinder compared to 3.5). Then it has the potential of being worse. That being said, every Pathfinder AP I've played has maybe only been 5-10% crit immune creatures.
This statement is confusing. Falchion does more damage, but the greatsword feels like it does more damage?
Using average dmg for dice rolls (1/2+0.5), Level 12, 20 Str, Power Attack, Improved Crit. This is break even with no buffs. As strength buffs are added, Falchion becomes better.
Great Sword:
Normal: 7+7+12 = 26
Avg with crits:26*.8+52*.2=31.2
Falchion: Normal:
Normal: 5+7+12 = 24
Avg with crits:24*.7+48*.3=31.2
If you've got Weapon Specialization, the Falchion already edged out the Greatsword.
If you've taken Critical Feats, then you're 10% more likely to activate them. It's just all gravey after this.
If you run into the very rare creatures that are immune to crits, then you are only doing 8% less (% reduces as level increases) on that one creature.
Agreed
Remnant
This +5 flaming greatsword deals additional 2d6 divine damage on hit. If its wielder is good, and its target is evil, it deals additional 3d6 divine damage instead.
This sword's hilt bears a depiction of a winged eye — the holy symbol of Aroden, the dead god. Despite its holy patron being long gone, the hallowed blade hasn't lost any of its power.
Else, i stand with Grifta : Elven Curved Blade > Falchion > Greatsword > Others
