What's the strongest two handed sword in this game?

In Pathfinder weapons have damage dice (along with other stats like crit ranges and crit multipliers) and you add your character's strength (plus other stuff when applicable). Generally damage dice are only really important at lower levels unless you're going for a vital strike build. That being said the hardest hitting 2 handed sword for medium characters in Pathfinder is the greatsword which does 2d6 damage. Honorable mention goes to the bastard sword which does 1d10 and can be wielded 1 handed and if you're proficient with it you can wield a large sized bastard sword (but only with 2 hands) for 2d8 damage but that requires proficiency with an exotic weapon and incurs penalties to hit.

+5 Impacting Keen Flaming, Jolting, Crosive Great Sword in the hands of a level 20 Two-handed Fighter with power attack and vital strike on a charge. With the spells rage, bulls straight, lead blades, and enlarge person on.

Falchion.

Sorry for the one word answer, but it just is. You'll have to find these yourself, but there are a bunch of people who have analyzed this, and extra 5% (10% later) wins out over higher damage dice at around 4-5th level for any martial character (something like 7-8th if you do Vital Strike feats).

This is assuming that you're mean strongest type of 2-handed sword, rather than any specific magical item.

Earliest you can get Improved Critical is level 8. And Falchion statistically outstrips any other 2-handed, non-reach weapon even before Improved Crit.

I'm not going to comment on reach since that adds WAAAAAY too many variables.

Sorry, I tell a lie. Elven Curved Blade is infinitesimally better (+0.5 base dmg), but it is exotic therefore significantly rarer, and potentially needs a feat (Elves get it at a Martial for free)

Also, if you are in a campaign that is absolutely jam-packed with creatures who are immune to Critical Hits (a lot rarer in Pathfinder compared to 3.5). Then it has the potential of being worse. That being said, every Pathfinder AP I've played has maybe only been 5-10% crit immune creatures.

The falchion is the best when it comes to overall damage per round but on its the greatsword hits harder.

Under the best conditions falchion has a 25% chance of critting that's the gimic.

I think you mean 30%

This statement is confusing. Falchion does more damage, but the greatsword feels like it does more damage?

Using average dmg for dice rolls (1/2+0.5), Level 12, 20 Str, Power Attack, Improved Crit. This is break even with no buffs. As strength buffs are added, Falchion becomes better.

Great Sword:
Normal: 7+7+12 = 26
Avg with crits:26*.8+52*.2=31.2

Falchion: Normal:
Normal: 5+7+12 = 24
Avg with crits:24*.7+48*.3=31.2

If you've got Weapon Specialization, the Falchion already edged out the Greatsword.
If you've taken Critical Feats, then you're 10% more likely to activate them. It's just all gravey after this.
If you run into the very rare creatures that are immune to crits, then you are only doing 8% less (% reduces as level increases) on that one creature.

Eh Style > Optimization. I dunno why but Falchions just don't look cool to me.

There are some weapons with unique abilities in the game. I'd say the best two-handed sword in the game is this one. Divine damage ignores any DR, resistances and immunities.

Remnant
This +5 flaming greatsword deals additional 2d6 divine damage on hit. If its wielder is good, and its target is evil, it deals additional 3d6 divine damage instead.
This sword's hilt bears a depiction of a winged eye — the holy symbol of Aroden, the dead god. Despite its holy patron being long gone, the hallowed blade hasn't lost any of its power.

Thainen, if that's the best, then it means the Royal artisan is pretty limited in what you can build ... (not saying it's bad, i'm saying this is basically a +8 weapon while you could have a total +10 weapon if you could craft it, and it would also match whatever weapon type you want).
Else, i stand with Grifta : Elven Curved Blade > Falchion > Greatsword > Others
