Lady of the shallows help
Maybe i am just not high enough level to resist her spells yet. But damn she takes like over my whole party and the just kill each other, what do I use to help against her spells?

I dont really seem to have much spell resistance items, protection from evil, but I am not even sure if she is considered evil.

You probably want to be at least level 10 before you try. There's no good loot there anyway.

i killed her on unfair custom maxed at lvl 7 all you do is cast enervation and get her down let say 10 or so lvls with a wizard and a priest after that she will fail about 80 % of the saves so you can do what ever to her blind stun shout is good ect...stuff like that... but yea loot isnt worth the effort at all.

At some moment she will run out of spells so keep you best melee hitter out of range, and bring him when she starts using physical attacks

I did it at 10, was still not easy. Ended up equipping everyone's ranged weapons and standing around her in a circle. Focused down the elemental and then focused her. Just happened to have Tristian on accident because I had just taken him to meet Tsanna. So I actually had 2 clerics at the time which ended up nice. Everyone was buffed out before the fight. Had incite rage on with my thundercaller which is supposed to stop enemy casting ability. I don't think it stopped hers but she eventually ran out of spells and the 2 clerics were just keeping everyone up. Pet died first, everyone else lived. Nicely enough my eldritch archer thug didnt kill everyone this time. Did that fight a few times. It really hurts when you take all the melee in and she glitterdusts you, so stay spread apart in ranged. My monk went in and everyone else stayed out. That's what worked for me.

Octavia(AT)->buff up->start combat with True Strike-> Hellfire Ray (or empowered Scorching Ray) -> 200 dmg
Main Char (Eldritch Archer)->buff up->True Strike->Full Attack-> 140 dmg
kthxbye ggwp

What difficulty ?
VoD Nov 15, 2018 @ 2:38am
Hard. The damage your spells/attacks do doesn't depend on the difficulty level by the way, neither do the number of sneak dice you can get. True Strike is there to actually hit her AC with high probability.

You can instakill a lot of boss type mobs by delivering a combat round 1 alphastrike for hundreds of damages. In the above scenario for instance I had Ekun do the same as my Archer which could have added another 100 dmg at least but he had bad initiative and couldn't complete his attack because the mob was dead too quickly.

I'm asking because I'm curios about the Eldritch Archer. I don't understand what's his deal, I mean he can deliver spells that require ranged touch attacks with his normal attack... ?

Does he have a high attack bonus, where does his damage come from ?
kaymarciy Nov 15, 2018 @ 3:07am
His deal is exactly the same as the regular magus'. Instead of the damage from the spell you do damage from spell+bow. Also threat range should be wider in theory.

And given how powerful are some loot bows and some feats plus sneak attack brokenness it's total munchkin 😁

Octavia as arcane trickster plus ray spells against flatfooted boss monsters waiting for you to initiate combat - the power of that should be clear.

As for EA:
I had 1 level of vivisectionist and accomplished sneak attacker - so that's 2d6 sneak dice.
The EA uses spell combat, so each round you
1) cast a ranged touch spell (ray of frost or acid splash or higher level ones like Scorching ray)
2) make a full attack with the bow
The spell adds 2d6 sneak dice, the full attack adds 2d6 sneak dice again. (which means by taking levels in classes that add more sneak dice you can produce even more dmg at the cost of whatever EA has to offer - which from a certain level on is not much imo)

At second level EA gets spell strike which means instead of making a touch attack with a spell you deliver that spell through your weapon. Of course hitting with our weapon is harder than hitting with a touch attack - to offset this disadvantage you get another attack at full BAB.
So a level 2 EA magus with spellcombat and spellstrike would deliver 3 attacks per round.
1 spell, 2 shots.

Add rapidshot + 1 attack, add manyshot +1 attack and then add your normal attack per round progression and you're looking at quite a number of arrows per round. EA can get some special abilities (Arcana) to buff up your weapon (holy, axiomatic, brilliant energy etc) or increase AB with Arcane Accuracy (INT mod added to attack bonus).
So, with Devourer of metal, Enlarge person which again increases the damage dice of that bow one category higher, fully buffed up, you can produce a surprising amount of damage.
Unfortunately EA has no easy access to stuff like hurrican bow or Sense Vitals, which would result in even bigger lulz.

Unless you have those two arcanas, whatever they are called in this game. Prescience and Dimensional I think? First allows to deny DEX (and dodge) bonuses to AC, second one denies armor bonus.

I took her down at level 13 pretty easily, no great loot, she is just part of a quest to kill a bunch of named creatures.
