Shield Wall: What is the meaning of "Adjacent"?
I see lots of posts about how you can tell if Shield Wall is working or not. I see lot's of posts about what "adjacent" means in PK but in relation to placing buildings in settlements.

But I cannot find a sausage that tells me what what "adjacent" means in practice in relation to team feats like this. Like, the characters are standing next to each other, duh!

But WTF does that mean?. How close together? Do they have to be facing the same way? Can one be "behind" the other? Bascially what condition(s) have to be satisfied to trigger team skills like Shield Wall that speak of "adjacent"?

Usually it should mean in melee striking distance.

Normally, it would be within 5 feet of one another. So if you were to draw a circle around a character with a radius of 5 feet (or whatever units this game uses for distance calculation), everyone within the circle would be adjacent to the center character.

Spells like Holy Aura work with distances as intended in the tabletop, while certain items like the Heart of Ira that are supposed to affect adjacent creatures work on all creatures within a whooping 30 feet/units so for Shield Wall, worst case scenario it covers all your faraway allies :P

Five feet, you say. Seems like it would be a tad tricky to measure that accurately on screen when positioning your characters.

Just use my measure then, it leads to the same result unless you have reach.

It seems to be pretty generous in my experience. My Jaethal tanks and Harrim stands behind her, he does not fight anyone and he still provides her with +2 bonus while he casts buffs.

If you want a visual. Use enlarge person (potion, scroll or spell whatever you get) on a medium char (so not a gnome or halfling). The melee yellow circle (not the green or the discontinued, those are the selection circles) around that char in battle, the one specifying your melee range should be 5 feet.
