Why did they merge head/headband and eyes?!
It's sto frustrating that I started using a cheat mod to give myself the attribute points that I would have if i were wearing the headbands, so that I can wear other stuff, like eyes of the eagle ofr the phylactery..

Maybe it's because they want you to make a hard decision, but it's just stupid in a game with the kingdom management is so based on DC's, that you should be able to have at least 2 slots for the head stuff!!!

It’s following PnP rules.

Which also don't make any sense for the same reason. Plus almost no one follows those rules and I have to believe that the person who wrote in the book that you can't wear the items together had to know the rule was stupid on its face and that no one would follow it.

I disagree. There are good reasons for it. But play your game however you want.

The choice to merge head, headband and eye slots together is an odd one that I really can not think of any good explanation for.

Uh no it's not. It explicitly is not. You get three magic item slots in PnP. Head (for helms, hats and the like) headband (for, well, headbands), and eyes (for goggles, glasses and such). The game is also missing the distinction between Armor, body and chest closts. You can wear full-plate, underneath a robe, while wearing a corset under your full-plate in the PnP.

Yeah it's not, hence why I made this post. Aww well, another thing that modders will fix up one day :)

We can only hope, all the modders in this community seem to be doing is focusing on portraits.

Maybe they don't want to touch the actual game because it might just explode, and their PC with it.

LoL, i just got a funny visual of Admiral Ackbar, turning the modder, his face looking at the modder from his monitor, "It's a Trap!" right before it explodes.

It might have been done (and I repeat: MIGHT HAVE; this is conjecture, not stated fact) to a) simplify the inventory UI b) reduce the number of magical items. I can imagine the eyes slot alone requiring a truckload of new items be put in the game just to fill that slot on multiple characters. Also, certain slots' items (like the eye slot, come to think of it) aren't as essential or useful as other slots. Me, I'd take an item that gives me +4 to my Wisdom ability score over a +5 to my Spot checks any day.
Yeah but the stat boosting items are one of the big 5 items to get, and vital for kingdom dc's as well, so it's really got to be a big item to use instead. There should be a seperate slot :(

That's by design. And yes, of course anyone would pick +6 to all mental attributes. That's why the Eye slot exists separately from the headband slot in the first place, to make interesting, more niche magic items that don't compete with your "core" build slots.

Making +5 perception compete with +8 wisdom is stupid. Making +5 perception compete with +5 Trickery is not. Hence the separate slots in PnP

And let's not forget that in PnP you can get custom made gear as long as you're in a reasonably large city, with enough money. And the ability to ADD features to existing magic gear.

This could break the game in some sense, but gold is a limiting factor anyway, and BP sucks it all away :P Also finding good loot can somewhat become "whatever" since i can just craft x anyway.
Still i would have liked item creation in some way or form.
