So, anyone have advisors they've regreted?
So, Kesten seems like a terrible Warden and has been suggesting the stupidest solutions to every problem that comes along. Unfortunately, the warden is based on Con and my only other options are Regongar or Ekun and neither of them have a high con (Why on earth Valerie can't be the Warden is beyond me).

I wonder how many "No you dolt, solve the issue permanently" it will take to make Kesten tender his resignation.

Anyone else had serious clashes with their advisors? Suggestions on who to avoid?

I haven't regretted any of the advisors in my playthroughs. Kesten is the weakest advisor stat wise given by then all my other advisors have 12+ in their advisor bonuses. But Kesten is fine as long as you do the projects to upgrade him. His solution is always adding guards and such, which I've never really had a problem with. Besides most warden events can also be handled by the general, so tougher dc events should be left to your general and you leave kesten with the smaller missions

The only advisor that has annoyed me once or twice is Jhod as he very conservative and a bit close minded, so he really the pepperidge farm remembers advisor.

Hi im new here. Wanna ask, u can upgrade the advisors lvl? Is that natural (through quest) or what?

Depends on how you prefer to deal with problems. Valarie's 'follow the law above all else' approach can be very grating to some, for instance.

Otherwise, Kesten's 'throw more guards at the problem' solutions annoyed me. So I tossed a +4 Con cloak on Ekun and made him my Warden instead, his solutions are more sensible.

The one advisor I'm sure everyone will eventually regret choosing is Lander.

<Bartholomew enters, puts forth new tax proposal>

<Baron stares at him for a solid 45 awkword seconds, trying to judge if his treasurer is activly attempting to incite a revolt>

....

"Do It."

You get a project to upgrade the NPC Advisors every two rank ups in the relevant kingdom stat.

Note: I also question why Valarie can't be a Warden. It's a role she'd be perfect for.

I ended going with Regongar for Warden and Ekun for Minister (based on dex). While Reg is a better general, Kesten died on me, so Ekun and Reg were my my only Warden options. I wasn't using Reg, so I put all his level up bonuses into con.

More importantly, does anyone have actual good councilors?
Well, Amari is surprisingly decent general imo, yes, she might not be the most tactical general around, but i do appreciate her high requirements of recruits and recruitment of experience officers.

Having tried both Amari and Reg as a general, I'd say Reg is better at it.

Ekun's massive dex makes him perfect for minister so that leaves the general as my only real pick for warden. I suppse if the general isn't an option than your only real option is to go Reg warden, Amari General (unless you took the half-orc envoy I guess).

Also, I prefer Harrim over Jhod for minister.

Still not as weird as Maegar Varn being a treasurer though. He should have been a General or Warden.

She's great on certain military problems. If you get one about a mountain...

Note, OP, that you do get several +4 belts and headpieces (+4/+6) to boost their stats in
Act 3 and moreover Act 4.

The one I have an issue with is Linzi. I tend to override her suggestions most often.
Octavia is another - chaotics (sigh)
Ekun I'm not fond of as too rigid but nothing disasterous so far.

Regent - Val
General - Amiri or Reg
Counselor - Tristan
Grand Diplomat - Linzi
Octavia - Arcane
Treasurer- Jubi
Warden - Ekun
Espionage - Undead girl
High Priest - Harrim
Curator - Storyteller

I used Val as regent, but couldn't agree with her suggestions and she ended up quitting.

Kesten is a bad warden: as has been said, his solutions are poor and rarely raise the kingdom stats much. Ekundayo is much, much better in that position.

Jubilost is the best treasurer, but Varn is decent too -- and I'd rather have Jubilost as Minister since Jaethal is too direct and Ekundayo is not good at being a spy.

Tsanna is the best high priestess by far (for raising kingdom stats), but her actions are blatantly evil from time to time. :P
