Sorcerer using touch spells, hints
Hi,
I'd like to play a Sorcerer - with focus on touch spells. Can anyone help with some hints regarding the Character creation?
As far as I have found out by now the Finesse Weapon feat can change the Str dependency of a touch to Dex so I think of going to 18 Dex (for AC mainly) and Cha and the remaining in Con and reducing Str and Wis to 7.
As for Spells I think I will Choose Shield to futher boost my AC and Ray of Enfeeblement maybe.
What other feats and considerations can be vital?

First, I would strongly advise against dumping stats down to 7. Taking a 7 in Wisdom is asking for trouble, you'll fail some key Will save and be out of a fight for good.

Second, You're probably better off not tanking Str, not bothering with Weapon Finesse, and relying on enemies having a low touch AC. Are you looking to be melee touch focused?

If you intend to do ranged touch attacks, you will need Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot.
i'd suggest you check the magus class considering it revolves heavily around touch attacks and melee damage.

My advice on the build would be

Go Dragon Disciple for the bonus armor and general enhancements to melee such as claws letting you melee damage and cast touch spells.

Grab the mobility skill so you can dodge in and out of combat without provoking attack of oppertunity

Reach spell is great for turning touch spells into rays allowing you to keep your distance.

Weapon Finess does apply to touch attacks

you can also take weapon focus ray and touch

level 1 spells: Shocking Grasp/Shield or mage armor (shield has a short duration, but mage armor will lose its benefit at higher levels).

your build is super risky but could be fun but honestly if i was gonna focus on touch spells i'd play a magus, they do pretty much what you are wanting without the drawbacks.

There are 2 "touch builds" that are moderately exclusive.

First is "Ranged Touch." It focuses on using rays to apply single-target damage and debuffs. I basically built Octavia into this in my game. You will want:
1. Point Blank shot and Precise Shot as soon as possible, as they let you actually hit enemies your allies are fighting.
2. A Rogue multi-class with Accomplished Sneak attacker into Arcane trickster is pretty powerful because ranged sneak attack is so strong in this game.
3. If you want to go pure caster, you then take spell-focus and spell specialization in your favorite scaling damaging spell, then load up on metamagics. If you want to go debuffs, pick a few and get greater spell focus. I hear energy drain is a good top level necromancy ray, so you could go with that. I have less experience with this build.

As a full caster, you are still going to be throwing out buffs and things. Though for this build, prioritize DEX > casting stat.

The Second is Melee touch. The logic is similar, but you don't need the archery feats so you can go straight into spell specialization/focus. But, you need to care about way more stats, and spend spell slots protecting yourself.

In both cases, don't forget you can get weapon focus in Rays or melee touch spells.

Oh, if you want to go melee, you can't have a Con less then 12. Preferably more. Otherwise you'll die when someone sneezes at you.

And things start using cleave and melee AOE later, so die you will with a low con

Isn't that what a magus does best ?

With a low Con, you'll die anyway from the Power Words.

Assuming the breath weapons Crag Linnorm, fireballs say hi to Tartuccio for me! and whatnot don't get you first.

Okay thanks then for the help. I think I will reduce Dex to 16 and then focus on the Ranged touch approach.

sounds like you better pick eldritch scion.
that way at least you can wear armor and add weapon damage/effects to your touch spells
