Unable to start game after windows update
Hi, I played the game without any issues yesterday after hotfix 1.0.7.
However today windows had automatically run a windows update and restarted and now I'm unable to launch the game.

When i start I see for a brief moment a white window with pathfinder icon i think and a red warning sign, but it dissapears before I'm able to see if there is any information about the problem.

Are there any logs anywhere that I can check to see what may be the problem?
(running Windows 10 Home edition Version 10.0.17134 Build 17134)

I spent a long time trying to discover what the issue was for me. I first thought it was a windows update, but it wasnt the case.

Thank me later =D

Win10 ver 1809 has been a bit of a mess so far.
It hasnt corrupted game saves but there are strange freezes and mouse cursor lock ups here and there.

I've been saying this as experiencing problems pre-patch...including the above problems. People don't want to listen. It doesn't mean that there aren't problems with the patch but all problems aren't from the patch.

I'm glad to see this though as I was thinking I needed to refresh my system. I do need to but may just roll back to postpone it.

If I uninstall and reinstall the game, will I loose save games?

Possibly rolling back is the option. It may take weeks for ver 1809 to settle down after several cumalative updates.

Im going to go out on a limb here and guess that you have citrix receiver or citrix workspace installed on your computer.

After much hair pulling, discovered this was the culprit to the unity engine not starting and the game crashing when trying to run it.

The fix: uninstall citrix receiver or workspace

I spent a long time trying to discover what the issue was for me. I first thought it was a windows update, but it wasnt the case.

I did indeed have Citrix Workspace installed. I uninstalled and it worked. I recieved a response from Owlgames that the bug seemed to be related to cloaks in Unity and to try starting the game with the new command line switch "cloakdisabled" or something after the 1.0.12 update...

The 1.0.12 update was just installed, but I did not add the command to startup and it still worked after removing Citrix so I believe that this indeed was the culprit.

Thank you very much, and I won't even start to guess how you found the correlation between Citrix and this problem :)

Glad it worked for you! After i pulled all my hair out trying to fix it i figured id save someone else the pain.

Heres to hoping they fix the unity engine to work when citrix workspace/receiver is installed. I dont like having to work from home via citrix but sometimes i need to.

I do tech support for a living and i wasnt about to let something stop me from playing this awesome bug free game =D

Welp ! Thank you provider of tech support wisdom from the past. I just had this issue while I was trying to play this game again (and of course, after installing Citrix workspace because 2020).
Uninstalled citrix, and then the game is launching perfectly. I am a little shocked to be honest.
