Basically; stock up on AOE abilities/spells/items and focus more on spells that don't require attack rolls and also bring ways to dispel any defensive spells he casts on himself, like various kinds of energy resistance.
Just like Baldur's Gate used the DnD 2e ruleset - because it was a video game based on DnD 2e.
Just like Neverwinter Nights used the DnD 3e ruleset - because it was a video game based on DnD 3e.
I managed to fireball him to unconciousness, but he won't die. Do I need cold iron?
It's either a bug or some special ability of this character in particular (beyond Worms That Walk in general). Looking at his tabletop version from the Kingmaker Adventure Path now.
EDIT: Nope, not seeing anything there either. Nothing on his spell list either that would explain it (he's a 17th level Transmutation Wizard in addition to the basic Worm That Walks stuff).
I think he's literally unkillable right now for me, as the person with cold iron I have is unavailable.
PS: My fighter was using the greatsword you can buy outside. It added fire damage to the weapon I believe. Maybe the other weapons add fire damage as well.
The arcane spell failure chance that I've been getting in there is really killing me though.
Those damned wild hunt stuns are brutal enough without half of your spells failing.
Thought it was impossible before trying this spell
Some things in this game are just GAH...
Edit: i reloaded the game just to see if there would be any difference. And hell, there was. I started the fight on normal difficulty, he was pretty much impossible to hit. Then lowered ALL enemy settings to the easiest possible. He was impossible to hit. So yeh. I dont know what to think.
i think its absolutely silly to make an enemy who has ♥♥♥♥ ton of magic buffs be immune to magic dispel... magic dispel is one of the most worthless spells in the game cant use it on anyone that you actually need it for.
Arcane (assuming Octavia): (Quickened True Strike -> Maximized Disintegrate) x3 with a Lesser Rod of Quicken and Regular Maximize.
Clerics: Spam Stormbolts (maximized or empowered by rods)
If you have a TWF rogue: Dispelling Strike, and haste. Hope for lucky shots.
