Any way to save the child?

The small child in the lizard village. Is there any way to actually save him? I've tried to cast protection from-/resist energy, so he survives the lightning, but the exact second the floating skull dies, the child does as well? I'm not even sure if that's intended..

you have to do a few things first. talk to all the lizardpeople with names in the village (3 of them?) and try and calm their fears. Heal the dieing lizardman, convince the guy to keep growing healing herbs and I cant remember the other one lol.

Next, Bring a scroll of glitter dust with you/have someone whos able to cast it.
My game was bugged( I guess?) and it didnt work for me but everyone on the forum says you get a special diolog option if you have the glitterdust. I had to talk to the old lizardman outside the gates of the Liz-town to get him to reveal the monster.

I know my lizman ending was bad because the Lizard King died (RIP) but the kid lived.

Like, Theres supposed to be a few ways to end the quest, One where everyone lives, one where everyone dies and my ending where the heroic and noble lizard King died but the kid lived.
As I understand it anyhow.

That path unfortunately ends with the child dead.

To save the child, you need to be alone in the tent with the child and cast glitterdust as a dialogue option. I think it has to be in the spellbook and memorized, at least the aasimar special ability didn't allow the dialogue, not did "see invisibility".

That's what I did. It didn't work. I talked to the gardener, made them grow healing herbs, healed the lizard in the hut and told the other lizard not to worry about any revenge. He still dies. And even if that hypothetically made a difference, what would that have to do with the child dying?
And if you use glitterdust to reveal him, somehow every lizard in the room wants to kill you too. The rattler has to do it for some dumb reason. And the child STILL dies.

If the quest is working as intended it's a seriously ♥♥♥♥♥♥ quest.

No, you can do it yourself, but only if you are alone with the child. If there lizards are already in the tent, you will loose the child in the ensuing battle.

Strangely, for my run I agreed to get the lizard shawman, told the shawman the kid was possesed, kid ran away while eveyone fought the moster, chieften dies and get notification that kid dies as well. (side note: Ms. bard had glitterdust as a spell known so I had an option for her to reveal him).

The king dies in the fight too. Even if he takes 0 dmg from the lightning bolt, he just dies.

I talked to the 3 lizards, afterwards I went to the tent where the kid is, passed an arcana check when picking (Who or what exactly am I talking to?) Afterwards, I had glitterdust ready as a spell and picked the choice that had [Make the spirit visible and attack] "I don’t negotiate with monsters!" Making the spirit appear in the room and just killed it and thek id was fine.

I snuck in to the village from the side first, spoke to the evil spirit alone, then spoke and calmed down/healed lizards in the village, then brought in the shaman lizard who exposed the spiirt. Kid got hit by lightning as he was released, but after I killed evil spirit and thrown a healing spell on the kid, he stood up well and alive, so the only ones who died were evil spirit, the king and maybe few lizards in the fight. Defo a quest with a few different endings, rather than best/worst only.

yes like i said the king dies but the old lizard will revive the kid during the fight,

first - the old lizard throws glitters to reveal the wisp

2nd - the wisp will shot thunder in the path where both the kid and king are standing and both will die

3rd - the kid will be revive but will be vulnerable to any hostile attacks

4th - rush the wisp to death while shielding the kid with whatever armor or spam heal u can throw to the kid, buy scrolls.

I think its still a bit buggy, I couldnt hit the monster with glitterdust either and I tried about 15 times.
You have to solve the lizardman problems because the monster feeds on fear so it sorta makes sense that he'll be weak if everythings hunky-dory in Liztropolis.

It still didnt work for me but hopefully on my next playthrough it will :D I want Lizardman allies, love thoes guys.

first- true

2nd - half-true, the child's life can be prolonged by putting protection from energy on him before the fight. The king dies anyway though. Even if he takes 0 dmg.

3rd - no, that never happened to me, no matter what I did

4th - if the child survives the lightning bolt, it dies as soon as the wisp dies for no appearent reason.

I wish there was a way to save the king. I wish they would let you res NPC's lol I know theres a few enemys I would like to res just so I can kill again but gental Lizard Kings and sweet, friendly kobolds dont deserve perma death

Did you try to hit it with glitterdust in the first dialogue when you are alone in the tent with the child? Not by selecting the spell outside of dialogue, but in the dialogue (could require successfull arcana check as prereq), as a dialogue option.
