Do "research into the nature of curses" projects have any impact?

Do "research into the nature of curses" projects have any impact on the story? As far as I can tell, you get a small bonus to one or more kingdom stats for completing them, and if you read the card that comes up on completion you learn a little bit of background information on that particular event. What I want to know is if these have any more impact later down the line, or if that's really all there is to it.

My original assumption is that by researching enough about curses in general you might have more options for dealing with the dryad and her curse later, which could present an alternate ending or additional content. It doesn't sound like that's the case though, but I'd like if someone could confirm it. If the Research projects don't actually do anything (besides a small boost to stats), I can safely ignore them the next time I play, which will vastly improve my kingdom management for most of the game

So far they seem to give only dome kingdom stats and a bit of lore. Not worth it if you ask me. Your High Priest and Magister's time is better spent on event cards.

I've heard that the "nature of curse" projects might be related to unlocking a romance option with Nyrissa later. Not sure how much truth there is to this rumor though.

I completed a few and I don't think I got any kingdom-wide buffs or so. They actually caused my High Priest to be underleveled relative to the rest of my advisors and was probably another reason why I had to put kingdom on invincible.

Knowing her back story, that's going to take a lot of work. Her 'condition' is that she can't fell love or other emotions due to events in her back story. The whole reason she's doing all this is to regain her emotions. She was also in love with one of the Eldest so you have to do something really special for romance to be an option.

Like I said, I have no idea as to how valid that rumor might be. Literally wasting years of your advisors time that can be spent on keeping the kingdom from crumbling had better be worth it in the end. Stranger things have happened than her falling in love with the MC anyway. Might be possible to restore her somehow by the end of it all if you do a handstand when all the planets are aligned.

The Briar research project might have some effect (not even sure about this one). I don't think any of the other curse research projects do anything other than waste BP and advisor time.

Well, so far we've got nothing but speculation in either direction. Unless somebody is certain they do something or not this topic stays open.

they unlock region wide buff projects example my friend has total immunity to poison inside any controlled region, which made some areas easier for him. BUT you will suffor for doing them... in that you lack one of your advisors for long peroids.

I went out of my way to do all the research projects and was able to romance Nyrissa (Gave her the Briar and now I'm her spring, can't break her curse though due to the quest being bugged and not triggering). Don't know if that's because I picked all the right options or did the research though.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, but we need someone to confirm the cause and effect. If someone has been able to do that WITHOUT completing the Curse projects, we'll know it's not related.

some unlock buildings when researched, other can unlock special projects. My one problem is i keep getting doubles for some reason of certain curse research

I did not do all the projects (although I did bald hill and briar) and had two options to give her briar. One looked like the romance option, but I took the other one, so cannot confirm.

(I think I have a save just before the fight though. Might redo it on story mode and see what that option does.)

If you ask me, the book dream episode within Nyrissa’s dream is probably more important.

I had that happened with the scythe tree research. I also ended up getting the xp reward for the related quest twice; could be related.

Tried it. Nyrissa refused the briar as ‘I know nothing of love.’ So, still no idea if the romance is project dependent or not.

So so far we know that "nature of curses" projects can unlock town buildings and other projects. I'd still like to know if they impact the story in any way, if anyone knows for sure that'd be great.

They can be used to increase/improve your stats, specifically Divine & Arcane.
