How deal with events?
Hello everyone, I want to ask your opinions on a topic of kingdom problems and how to deal with them. I want to find out, maybe I did something wrong.

Ok, so here is the situation - 27th day of month, I get three problems. 2 can be solved by general, 2 by economist, 1 can be solved by any of them. The fastest problem is solved for 7 days, so I can not reuse someone, because in 3-4 days the month ends.

My guess is that the game expects me to have a second general at this moment, but it's start of 3rd act and it would be quite a hard thing to do.

Nope, you didn't do anything wrong (probably). It is normal that you will have to make decisions about which problems you will ignore and which one you will attempt to solve. It isn't catastrophic to fail a normal "problem" event -- if it were, then the KM would indeed be unsolvable.

However, if the problems you are getting are releated to the main problem of the chapter (Trolls for chapter 2, Magical Beasts for chapter 3, and undead for chapter 5) then yes, you've done something wrong. Some problem cards are "hurry up" cards that aren't intended to be solved via the KM, but must instead be addressed via completing adventuring. While you can mitigate the effects of these "hurry up" problems via KM, its a losing game, as the events will occur more and more frequently with higher and higher DCs until your Kingdom is overwhelemed. So... If that's what is happening to you, hurry up. :)

The game throws too many events at you on purpose, like it's supposed to make it more fun or challenging or something, generally the problems and events tend to repeat themselves so you know what to expect from each one after a while. Problems should generally be dealt with first becasue ignoring them have the most negative effects. Despite what the hints say ignoring opportunites also has negative effects they are just minor. From your description you could assign all three and just wait till the end the time of the month has very little influence on this as things occur throughout the month.

But honestly, trial and error, make a hard save at the beginning of each chapter in case you really screw something up and don't want to start over.

Maybe I worded it wrong, but I can't assign all three. It's 27th day -> I have 3-4 days till they disappear. And they all appeared on that day.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Well if you don't have any advisors free then you can't do anything about it just let them fail and roll with it. if you really feel annoyed by it then save scum before one of your other assigned events is finished and wait till it gives you a triumph which will give you the points you lost back as a bonus.

And agreed don't leave the main quests until they show up in your kingdom as events this will quickly destroy you.

As long as you place advisors to work on events they will NOT disappear and will NOT fail*

*except few events related with main quests.

Ok, thank you for your answers. I guess it's either grin and bare or get your 2nd general(stability) as fast as possible.

Even when you have a warden (and all the other secondary characters), the problem doesn't disappear -- you just get more events / "routine" month, and still have to let some fail due to lack of advisors. For better or worse, this is simply a design feature (and, personally, I think it is a good thing, but YMMV).

First of all, problems should NOT appear after 20th of the month - it's poor design, period.
Second, best solution is to let the month end, save the game and edit your savefile to adjust unrest and other parameters that such events may have ruined.

Well I would rather have problems\opportunities each have their own timer, rather then simply apppearing only on first two weeks.

I got my warden later in the game because it took me a while to get the needed stat to 60 (and I had no idea this was a requirement because the game never informed me about this - I had to find out from other players on this forum) and by the time I got him most of the DCs of his events were impossibly high for him. The DCs would be in the upper 20's and 30's and he would have like +6 or something so even if he rolled a 20 (5% chance) he would STILL fail. And this is on "easy" kingdom management.

Yup just found that, after 100h of gameplay and the deadline will be also extended for 1 month, i wonder is this a bug or feature?

Feature because timer is asking for response in time, not for finishing event :)

rather than all on days 27-28 when all advisors are already busy doing other things, don't you think? They are also too many each month.
elven1289 Oct 23, 2018 @ 5:52am
Well if each issue would have it's own timer we wouldn't be worrying about last day of the month, so day number will be meaningless. About appearing on what day - the comment above mine states that issues shouldn't appear on last two weeks. I don't find it realistic, so that's why I said that issues should have individual timers.
