How do i get the quest "Guiding Beacon"?

I completed Nature of the beast but bart gave me no option to start the guiding beacon quest. Is it a bug or did i screw something up?

That quest pops up some time after that if you don't go deal with the trolls immediately. Can't remember what rewards it gives as it bugged out on me the last time I tried it.

I think it may be bugged for me, i went and did a few things and let some days pass in game and the quest never appeared upon revisiting bart.

It can take some time. I got this quest around the time I got the first troll invasion card.

I've never got this quest at all. Probably it appears only in the case of active Octavia or Regongar romance. I really hope it is not necessary for their survival.

Bartholomew does not actually give you a quest, there is only a mention to retrieve an item he had stolen/lost. That item is a whip (i.e.: Black Whip) that is found in the lower levels of the Dwarven ruins. Once you get that far and retrieve it, then return to Bart and then there will be an option to recruit him as an advisor.

That is the part that I never had too :) He was never attacked by several trolls.

That is the part that I never had too :) He was never attacked by several trolls.

You meet Bart on the initial first visit.
The second visit during Troll Trouble is where he is being attacked by several trolls.
Third visit is when you return his black whip and possibly offer him an advisor spot.

Maybe I didn't visited him the second time during Troll Trouble. But for sure when I visit him after that, he is alive and can become an advisor.
