A Bloody Craft - Where is Sharel?
This game is so frustrating without some form of quest pointers. The Quest Log simply says "Sharel wants to talk somewhere where there are no witnesses..". Where should I look for Sharel?

I did try there first..Sharels not there...this part of teh quest is the part where Sharel says he wants to discuss when there are "no witnesses around". is this some remote part of the map that the useless quest interface doesnt point to?

No it's still the village he spawns in. For pretty much every meeting with an artisan it is always where you first met them, the quest description typically describes them as "Character x of region y" if you can't recall where it was. Bokken is an exception but he is always at the trading post. If Sharel isn't there (for me he is still kneeling by the guard) it sounds like you might be bugged.

I have to say the artisan quests are ridiculous. You have to memorise which village each one is in, probably best to write it down as they will visit you and instead of telling you what they want then and there, have a laugh insisting the baron/king pay them a visit at their house xD I never got the great items any of them promise either, even after finishing their quests in game years ago.

Years?

I thought this game was new-ish?

Hyperbole is to be expected in the net :)

Still, the artisans start on their master pieces only after you got crowned, no matter when you did their quests. Their usual cycle is between 70-125 days, but their mp takes 181-185 days to finish. I don't understand if there is any trigger besides being crowned, but it seems to me that it is completely random.
Someone said that kingdom stats come into it, but I have serious doubts about that after having written down all artisan appearances and kingdom stats on a calendar, so I can track what happened when what was at what rank.

Since they start randomly, it can happen that some come early and others very late. My first piece was Dragn's in my first game, this time it was the 8th. I still have to see Varrask's piece in a game at all.

You can do something simple about the villages they live in: name the village after the artisans in it. Once it is named Kimo-Sharel you won't have any trouble finding them again.
