But Pathfinder standard is 20. 25 for heroic. Anything above that is godlike.
Hah, Pathfinder Society is a 20 point buy, and PFS is kinda the golden standard for fair play. 25 for a main character is generous.
Basic Fighter "needs" 16-18 Str, 12+ Dex, and 14+ Con. Even then you can change those stats around to 14 Str, 16-18 Dex, and 12+ Con if you wanted to. Thats a 12 point buy with a racial buff to get to 16 in one stat. 13 points if you decide to make the 12 a 13. That leaves you 7 points to increase your mental stats.
Serious question? Who would play in gimped campaign like that? 25 is crazy low. Any remotely interesting character needs at LEAST 3 18s minimum.
He's saying basic fighter needs to start with 18 in three stats. He's either trolling or is used to very heavy power gaming.
This isnt 5e, dont get the two confused
Hes def trolling. 3 18s is insane power gaming
I haven't played since 2nd. But for a paladim I would want 18 18 18 10 16 16
But seriously in Pathfidner terminology, your common point buys are:
10 - Low Fantasy
15 - Standard Fantasy
20 - High Fantasy
25 - Epic Fantasy
30 point buys are unheard of in Pathfinder. Clearly you're either trolling, or used to a fairly non-standard table.
Pretty sure Kingmaker, the AP, as written, is intended to be handled by a 4 PC party at a 15 point buy.
never played pathfinder, haven't played tabletop d20 in over 30 years. If you are not playing Monte Hall why bother?
Yeah, why not randomly mix completely different rulesets.
Every party should contain one queen and two towers, get your head straight Pathfinder!
Did you just wake up from Baldur's Gate induced coma OP?
IIRC, DnD 3ed. did have 30 point buy as their equivalent of epic fantasy. But the point values are slightly different; it ends up producing the same stats as Pathfindet's 25 point buy.
