Assigning a Chieftain for the Tiger Lords?
At the end of the quest The Twice-Born Warlord I've seen you can assign a Chieftain for the Tiger Lords. My problem is that I'm only getting two of the choices out of a possible four, that being a choice between Armag and Gwart. As far as I'm aware the only reason why I shouldn't be able to pick Dugath is because he's dead but as far as I know he hasn't died since neither I or the Sisters etc had killed him so I don't understand why he's not coming up as a choice. As for why Amiri is coming up as a choice I feel it's very unfair that this choice is apparently, from what I've read locked out unless you complete the quest Betrayer's Flight before Hour of Rage since that's impossible to know prior to getting to the part of choosing a Chieftain without looking it up. I know from what I've read at least that this choice makes no real difference to game play outside of a bit of story at the end but I still would have liked to have the choice to pick whom I like without some impossible to foresee circumstances that completely blocks you out of said choices unless you spoil the game by looking it up way in advanced or by going through the strenuous and tedious task of loading back a previous, possibly quite far back save to try and change the outcome. Oh and FYI I would have liked to picked Amiri if the choice wasn't blocked out for me.

If you do Flight of the Betrayer first Kassil dies, Dugath dies, Nilak dies, and Jamandi is pretty damn pissed at you for letting her entire army get slaughtered. You also lose out on a possible glitch where you get to keep an extra Oculus of Abaddon or two without having to sacrifice Tristian for it.

So while it could be fun to install an absolute Trump as the Chieftain and watch the barbarians die from poor management, it is quite costly if you have invested a lot in Kassil and/or want decent relations with Jamandi .

I'm actually considering replaying some 20 frustrating hours (and I had to re-load alot since I didn't want to spend more than 2 rests due to kingdom worries) from just before Vordakai's tomb so I can redo my choices and go to Flintrock before Castlemere. While Kassil is an ugly bastard, I have spent a lot of time making him a decent manager with +15 to rolls.

I think the game is just fine blocking you out of choices. Thats the replayability value.

Anyway, I had 1 choice Gwart... lol. And I hear its possible to have no choice at all.

What I don't understand, since I haven't tried completing it first is why you have to complete Betrayer's Flight before Hour of Rage to unlock Amiri as an possible choice, I would have assumed it would be the other way round. Like what part of taking longer to deal with the barbarians somehow allows her to take up the position?

Sorry to ask: I have done "Betrayer's Flight" first.
Than Amiri have lost very quick the duel against Amarg. The quest failed.
And she was NOT a choice as chieftain, after Amargs tomb. I had Durgath, Gwart and Amarg to choose.

Now I will do this all again .... "Betrayer's Flight" first and NOW: Amiri have somehow "not" won the duel against Armag, but this time she was really stronger. Amiri was really good but a sister paralyze Amiri and Amarg was a bit pissed about it. And the quest failed again .... :(

Will I have now the chance to choose Amiri as chieftain ... only because she beat Amarg a bit more and was close to win (without this sister)?
Or will I not have the chance to choose Amiri as chieftain when I'm NOT doing "Hours of Rage" first?

I have found a lot information about this online ... but ... probably a bit to mutch. I'm not sure about this anymore. Some say so and some say something else ....:steamfacepalm:

Thanks :)

I'm pretty certain you need to complete Flight of the Betrayer first before you complete Hour of Rage in order to have Amiri become Chieftain of the Tiger Lords. I haven't played for a while though so things could have been changed since.

quite the necromancer you are.
anyway i believe that you just need to make sure to beat armag with amiri untill the sister cheats the duel. doing hour of rage or flight of the betrayer shouldn't matter i believe.

But im not 100% sure about this sadly.

you could give it a try if you really want to do hour of rage.
the only difference tho from doing it second instead of first is that jamandi will lose her army and be pissed. but ♥♥♥♥ her xD

I think there is a website on steam that you can look at cloud saved games

I think Mr Grim is correct. From what I understand, the requirement for having Amiri as an option for chieftain is that she get the better of Armag to the point that the Defaced Sister intervenes and cheats by casting hold person on Amiri. Then it's clear to the whole tribe that Amiri is stronger, because Armag couldn't best her without outside help.

That said, I did Hour of Rage first (only one playthrough so far, and I'm not quite done with it, so I don't know the ending slides), Amiri ALMOST beat Armag, the Sister paralyzed her. . . and at the end of the questline I had four options for chieftain, including Amiri.

As far as reading a lot online and being confused, I've been in much the same boat when I've gotten stuck on something and searched for clarification. Some of what you may read is contradictory in large part because updates to the game have changed some things since it came out. If you're reading posts and discussions from late 2018, bear in mind that what they say may not be accurate anymore. When I dug a little more, I found out that some aspects of Hour of Rage and Betrayer's Flight worked a certain way when the game first came out, but were changed by later patches.

Good luck!

Thanks :heartfull:

I have a romance with Tristian and so I had to make Betrayers Flight first (I hate this decision ...).
I will tell you what happen after Amargs Tomb.

Yes, this problem I had to face: Lot of information (old and new) are online. You can't be sure whats right or not. Also, my english is not really good and I dit not understand always, everything. :brownchicken:

UPDATE:

IT WORKS!! After Amargs Tomb you can choose Amiri as chieftain. But only if you was close to win again Amarg before. So close that the "sister" have to use her magic to stun you.

Than you can propse Amiri as new leader and say "She was close to win against Amarg, she deserve to be your new leader ..." something like this.

THANKS A LOT! :steamhappy:
Good job figuring it out :)

I'm glad it worked out!
