How to use custom portraits?

Trying to figure out how to use custom portraits for my character. I read online that you need to replace the portraits in the Kingmaker folder with the photos you want to use. How exactly do I do that?

In create New Character, there's a tiny-hidden-in-plain view icon (worst design ever). Click on it and there be an option to open the portrait folder.

Note to graphic design guy: Before you take offense, yeah it's very obvious IF YOU made it, or it is pointed out to you. But, for most it looks like a part of the aesthetic fluffs commonly seen in games like Balder's Gate or such.

I can get to the Kingmaker folder. I'm just not sure how to replace the portraits once I'm in the folder.

after you clicked on the small Icon only use left and right Arrows, sometime you get Blank images but thats okay.

I'm in the folder right now and I see a full length, a medium, and a small picture. Do I need to edit them or something? How do I replace these pictures with the pictures I want?

Wow.

So you're in folder with the portrait? But you don't know how to replace an image file? Sorry, can't help you mate. Maybe pick up 'PC for Dummies' book...?

Yes I don't know how to replace an image file because I've never done it before. Maybe instead of making jokes you could just help me instead?

one look at first site here in steam at discussions.... took me 1 second ^^

make a new folder and call it something like 01, then take any pic you want and open it in paint to edit it and put it in that folder. resize your pic in pixels form , 692 x 1024 and name it Fulllength and save it as a PNG. then u take it and crop it down to just a bust and resize it to 330 x 432 and name it Medium and save as PNG, crop it again to just show the face and resize it to 185 x 242 , name that one Small and save as PNG , take the new folder u just made the one u called 01(or whaterver u want) and put that into the portraits folder. then start the game and go to the portaits and there is a small button under them to get to the costume portaits and use the arrows to find you new portrait.

If you've following the thread I have been helping him/her. But it's like this: A person ask you how to get water to drink in desert. You gave them instruction/direction to do so. Then person asks you how does one drink water?

The easiest thing do to is go into the portraits folder and create a new one with a name you recognize instead using the ones with numbers. Put your portraits in there. You can scroll through all the folders in that directory at character creation.
