So much for my shopping spree. :/ At least I read this before I spent the money. It makes sense.
No, the complaints on endgame are due bugs preventing us even getting to the end game.
Difficulty spike complains are due random encounters you can get as low level charecter, haven't seen single end game difficulty complaint exept when it comes to the very last dungeon.
One thing I am not certain is if the amount of problems that hit your kingdom is tied to how much land you own.
However all I know is in my first playthrough I leisurely expanded and completed the main quests the moment they popped up and most of my advisors just sat on the bench the first few acts pretty inactive.
I'm guessing if you tackle the main quests asap then expanding quickly shouldn't be too much of an issue. It's going to be a balancing act thats for sure.
yeah no doubt the end game is buggy, but there have been complaint threads regarding the difficulty of some of the endgame encounters too.
Sadly because of the bugginess of the game, its very hard to have a honest conversation regarding the balancing until most of the gamebreaking bugs are fixed.
they fixed the questlines for a couple of the artisans, hopefully all of em will be fixed soon.
Luckily the +3 and +4 gear your artisans gift you don't require you to complete their questlines and are more likely tied to kingdom stats.
Ah yeah, now that I mention it I heard pitax chapter can have something like 700 ac guards, but, me being one of those that can't even get there due game bugs ( started all over five times now, not going past safe zone before it's patched), I have no personal comments on them.
Alrighty, well it sounds worth trying. I'm in the same boat now as your first game, quite a few inactives and only one artisan. I think I'm just starting Act 4 now - the tomb is done and seems the timer is shorter but I am hoping to get those stats up and put off exploration in hopes I'll get a chance to do it later. But other than that I should probably get at least a few artisans unlocked. I'm fully prepared to not make it as a ruler the first go, but I can't say I'd mind it.
Yeah I didn't realize how easy it was to get artisans to start gifting you stuff. You literally just visit your new regions towns, all the named NPCs are artisans and you just do 1 simple quest for them to unlock their workshop, and then you just build their workshop in that town and bam they start showering you with gifts lol.
Also if you miss out of recieving an artisan's gift due to being out of town for too long or skipping too many days, the gift automatically goes to your chest storage!
Everytime you conquer a region a NPC will offer you their services. Acept and build a workshop for them. When you level up your kingdom and their town, it will reward you with better gear.
