War Wisps
War Wisps....no see invis.....no shock resist.....5 pop out of no where....2 shot deaths.....constant through map.....
Think I'll put the game up for the night. I don't much care for reducing difficulty but I'm definitely not a fan of this.

I did this on challenging and rolled them.

The Wisps aren't invisible. They are spawned into the game when your characters enter the area on the map where they are located.

cast protection from energy and laugh at them?

use your rogue as intended and scout a bit?

the ones in the well destroyed me hard, but I had no issue with the ones on the Island near Lizard Village

How do you scout with a rogue? I don't see a sneak button. I can't scout when I some into an area and immediately get ambushed by them. My cleric doesn't have that spell but I will check in the town and see if that is sold. Will do it tomorrow though.

sneak is far right side on the character bar above the ai combat on/off.

Looks like an eye
I'm pretty sure whats going on is etheral Jaunt which isn't invisibility, a creature with etheral jaunt can jump between the etheral plane and prime material world aka our world. This gives them a seeming ability to vanish and reappear that isn't teleportation, which is why they spawn in the way they do.

For people asking yes you can see our world from the etheral plane, so they can watch you but you cant see them. Now i think true seeing SHOULD see them but it's one of those things that is difficult to really implement into a game like this which is probably why it doesn't reveal them.

Put greater invisibility on your ranged rogue, if you have one. Deny them their dex bonus to AC and they're absolutely defenseless.

Or they are in "sneaking" mode like other monsters (wererats or wolfs) in other areas and you can spot them with high perception but this is not 100%.

If your cleric does not have that spell, he does not have it YET, aka come back once you’re levelled enough to have access to it.
(It’s not sold. Sold spell selection is terrible.)

I thought the cleric functioned the same as sorc in that I had to choose spells to have in my book. Thanks for letting me know about that one. I didn't roflmao through them but it was tons easier and I'm finished with that part.

Thats actually not true, they burst through a protection from energy in roughly 2 rounds. Sure it helps but you will still take significant damage unless you can burst them down fast.

Yeah, I don't remember which I had. It was communal. It wasn't the one that wore off after so much damage had been applied. It lessoned the damage by 10 for 10 minutes.
The thing that bugs me is this area is impossible until communal protection and resit electricity, then once you do, it's too easy. Same with the giant acid slugs. Or because areas aren't marked with difficulty rating (I know it's pathfinder), but, like in poe 2, it let's you know when you can be challenged rather than flat out destroyed. Also would be awesome to have enemy scaling to keep a challenge wherever you went!
