Sartayne, can't find him. (Nazrielle's Greatest Creation quest chain.)
Looked everywhere in my capital, can't find him. From what I've read he shold be in the tavern but he isn't in mine. Anyone got any ideas?

did u even try google the quest?
Hateraide2011 Oct 17, 2018 @ 3:05pm
Of course I did, the best thing I could find is the quest is still bugged. Seems if the flag on the quest isn't up the dude never shows up at the inn.

EDIT : Found him. For those trying to find one-shot answers after reaching here via googling and instead of trawling through more links after reading the condescending posts above :

!!!! Sartayne is on the Right Side of the Main Square in the Capital city!!! He is NOT in the Tavern!!!

PS : I feel I have completed a lot of the quests by coming to forums seeking answers than actually finding the quest log helpful. at this point - 50% of quests are not doable if you attempt them in game.I mean finding the frightened apprentice quest in the early part of this questline hiding in the north east corner right at the edge in the Bridge with no quest markers? The useless quest log naturally helps in NO WAY.

The quest logs says he's in the capital .. and he's in the capital. Think you're being a little harsh.

I recommend not siding with him in this quest as he's bugged to hell.

Well initially he wouldn't talk to me which I fixed by qutting to main menu and reloading (seems to fix a few of these kind of bugs).

When I picked the fight dialogue option he summoned a cheetah which stood there non-hostile while I beat him to death.

Most of these quest are so nebulous where people and locations are. I found Sartayne just under the Tavern loading section of the capitals main square. To be clear he is in the main square, to the east near the corner of the screen. Hard to see.

I dispise these quest because so much isn't told. For instance the part of this quest to find the apprentice who stole a weapon, no discription is given. Just go out and explore the endless maps. A note is the map he is in doesn't update with "new event" meaning most people are screwed.

i went with the LE option (after restarting the game cause he wouldnt talk to me) at which point he summoned a leopard (that was green), turned red agro (but didnt attack), and let me stab him.

Quest complete but now I got a permanent kitty in my capital. purrrrrrfect :D

Thanks for the main menu trick. I tried just reloading and that didn't work.

And by nebulous you mean literally incorrect.

The lady says right in her dialogue that he is "in his HUT not far from the Capital" not that he is in the capital.

The fact that the quest log then says that he is in the capital clearly shows incompetence and incoherence all around in this game. Where exactly did the quest information come from considering the lady giving you the quest and presumably the place we get the quest info from says something different than what's given in the quest log.

This is seemingly in every other quest where if you were to listen to the actual quest giver(who is where the quest log information comes from in literally every game ever) you'd never find the people or items in question.

If you've been in game development before or any sort of business development before you see exactly what this is/why this is.

We all already knew this but it's just more proof that the game was released well before it was done. See the guy was supposed to be in a hut away from the capital but due to time/money constraints they moved him to the capital when they had to rush the game out.

You see this all the time and all throughout this game in particular where the text doesn't line up. Usually when content is cut due to time constraints they have time to go and fix/line up the dialogue/text.
This game is so rushed out they didn't even have time to match up their original writings to the changes/cuts they had to make.(the writing trees are done well before the coding/animations are all done)

I'm disappointed that "you're going to jail" is a Lawful Evil action. At worst, it should be Lawful Neutral, as putting a confessed criminal - one who has actually harmed people and fully intended to do so- in jail is in no way evil. It's what my Paladin MC had to do, and, yeah, it rankled.

What's worse is that Sartayne crafted cursed items, putting innocent people in danger, so putting a stop to this should at least be Good-aligned (or, in the best situation, not alignement-dependant. You are, after all, the person who is supposed to prevent the place from crumbling). And still, all choices were either evil or neutral but made you fail the quest. I play a Chaotic Good, and the only Chaotic Neutral action was a trap (as usual in this game, Alignment based choices are stupid... Most Chaotic actions available feel Evil, and most actions that would feel Chaotic are Evil). The Lawful course of actions would have been to put him in jail like you said ; the Good course of actions would have been to confront Nazrielle.
