What may I get if I choose to go to Thorn Ford first, not the Tomb?
as Title.
Thank you very much.

You can go always to the Tomb area without losing anything. Pick up one person. Then you have to choose between getting Tristian (Cleric) immediately by going to Thorn Ford/Hut/Temple or the other person from the prologue by going to Old Sycamore.

Thorn ford allows you to do the quest for Svetlana's Ring. Its actually Tomb vs Temple, and it decides which companions will be out for chapter 1.

You can choose to be able to use Tristan, a caster style cleric or Jaethal undead inquistor + Harrim tanky cleric

It seems like you would got a chance to talk with a shield warrior if you chose to go to Thorn Ford at first, but can't figure out what that would help...

And there would be a hint about the Tomb in the quest log.

Yes, but I could still go to Tomb first to get one companion and then go choosing the next one I like.
I just wonder if there's any benefit if I go to Thorn Ford at first.

Nope, its just a side quest area. Allows you to weaken the chapter boss if you have high enough knowledge nature.

Either way, you will have Tristan and the 2 companions who followed Tartuccio in the Prologue.
Doing Thorn Ford first, or the Tomb doesn't change anything in long-term.

So I found that I have to choose the Tomb first, since going to Thorn Ford first would lost the chance to get one companion at the Tomb. (validated)

But you will be able to get both of them later in Old Sycamore.
Only diffirence is order you get companions, not whom.

Going to Thorn Ford first means that you'll be walking around with 4 party members for a while longer.

This has been my experience. I went to Thorn Ford and then the Ancient Tomb, then Old Sycamore. I never saw Jhod......
