House at the Edge of Time problems (spoilers)
1. As far as I can see - I lost all my viable companions (amiri, linzi, regonar and octavia). Now I have to stick to party of 5 (me, nok, valerie, harrim and jaethal). I had no other companions. So is there some way to keep at least regonar and octavia? Amiri too, she was most powerful companion in my party.

2. Overall difficulty feels unbearable there, even enabling story mode doesnt help. Am I doing something wrong? Also was completing three crown shard quest mandatory before entering the House?

3. My party are levels 14-15 is this okay for this stage?

Im thinking I have to use cheatengine or smth to beat the game. Probably gonna return to it in a couple of years to do clean walkthrough.

I hit level 16 while there.

Stupid question maybe, but well. I can't find Harrim and Ekun. I killed the damn nymph, but still haven't found these 2 companions. Where on earth are they ?

For Ekun you have to walk through a doorway in the northwest corner of the First Floor. Harrim was in one of the rooms off the central corridor on the First Floor. It might be different for different players, but that's where he was for me.

Make sure you're in the right dimension, all the companions are in the dimension with the ghost guards. If you're fighting Wild Hunt you're in the wrong dimension.

I think I see what you mean. Well, these rooms are all empty for me, in both dimensions.

Not sure how to save Ekun. The troll in his room is unkillable. Even after I knocked it down nothing I did would kill it.

Try attribute damage, there are a bunch of enemies with regen you can't bypass in this level. Attribute damage and disintegrate can still kill them. Fortunately for me I had both Ekun and Nok-Nok as Knife Masters with crippling strike.

For Ekun at least: you have to he in the right dimension before loading that map.

To me this area sums up my problems with this game. 100 hrs building my party only to have it randomly destroyed, with no warning, and no way to mitigate. It definitely feels like DEV's saying, "suck it players". RNG if you can get a party that's decent and playable. Nearly all of my core party died to Nyissa and i finished nearly all of their companion quests.
Shadenuat Oct 26, 2018 @ 7:49am
That's a bit too low, my Evil with suboptimal choices HURR KILL entered place with level 16, and LN who solved quests with a lot of XP on level 17.

The problem with losing characters might tie to bugs with their companion quests. You gotta finish their quests then they won't die.

If you happen to get those bugs, take mercenaries before entering portal.

Guide to survival (SPOILERS)

Jubilost - Must give the immortality gift to allow xae to open the portal she saves jubilost from death

Nok-nok - make him a hero let him build his shrines and build the statue (which looks epic by the way) never look down on him and always treat him as an equal hero he will not betray you and manage to survive thx to your belief in him

Harrim - Finish his quest line and dont agree with his view that the torag dwarfs are worthless to help him discover his role as a devote to groteus and that will bring him to realise it is not yet his time to die.

Ekundayo - Dont support his rage however dont let him down either as in you need to wait with him when you first meet him to kill the trolls then take him to the troll lair and kill the one that killed his family but after that encourage him to move on and not live for vengeance that will result in him waiting for you rather then dieing for his rage also agree to fight the evil troll in the house on the edge of time that troll is fairly powerful however baleful polymorph makes it easy and the loot is very good.

Jeathal and Tristian - if you lead jeathal to sacrafice her child (depending on how she was sacrificed if the child was killed on the place tristian kills her if she kept the child to sacrefice her later to become living again she kills tristian) one of them dies. if you made her not sacrifice her child she returns not undead anymore under the service of another deity and tristian also lives.(if they kill each other despite 1 of them surviving it seems they will not join you so in fact unless you keep jeathal from sacrificing her child you basically lose them both regardless which one survives)

Linzi - seems there is no way around it she dies at this point for plot.

Valerie - if you kept her true to herself she will not betray you (as in dont start the violence in the temple let them attack you first and also allow her to go threw the trial)
Rag & Octavia - if you allowed janush to escape and saved the people from burning and then spoke to them both and agreed it was the right thing to do they both will survive unharmed if you choose to chase janush and left the poor slaves to parish they also die.

Amiri - during the final part of her quest you must have the option to offer your self as sacrifice to seal the blade and also both the chieftains alive once you offer that amiri will plunge her self on the sword and the ghost will decide to revive her that selfless offer to sacrifice your self in the place of the Tribe chiefs for amiri and her revival makes her 100% absolutely loyal to you in every way and never doubt or falter the fact that you shall never abandon her should you choose any other option she will succumb to the feeling of bringing death to others and feel that she has no place in the world no more. saving her is not possible if you didnt go straight to the big battle and if you failed to save nilak so many factors must come together for you to be able to offer your own life and the result of saving her.

Those are all the outcomes i'v personally experienced and was able to save all of them (excluding linzi) in a single play-threw and one more piece of advice having 6 custom characters (your main and 5 mercs) makes this part of the game much easier once you cross the portal with any merc in your party the merc will remain in your party and even if you lose anybody your basically loosing ministers and not the core companions of your team.
As for the fights Freedom of movement is pretty darn useful disintegration and baleful polymorph also came in very handy.

Well it was a bit different in my case:

in my playthrough i mocked the dwarves together with him and he still survived.

i made them kill janush BUT i also did their later quests (they met their parents), both of them survived

I think, I've encountered a bug with surviving/dying companions - Jaethal's and Tristian's questlines are completed (with the capital-G-good outcomes), but Jaethal still kills Tristian. What variable I have to change in the save file to have them both survive?

I'm usually not one to complain, but those Ghostly Guards seem -way- overpowered. I'm just playing on Normal mode, but Disrupting Weapon has no effect on them whatsoever, nor does Channel Positive Energy. At the moment I have Tristian and Valerie in my (level 17) party; no matter what buffs I apply, they'll one-shot Tristian as soon as they get to him and kill Valerie and I in about 30 seconds. I have yet to kill even one of them; the best I've managed is to take one down to about half hp. I'll keep at it, but come on - if my party can't even drop ONE, how are they supposed to deal with an entire mob?

You have to work on your tactics. When i just went in like that, my group was killed all the time. I solved it by summoning elementals and other things, which worked as a bait. And then my group rushed in for the kill. Have "Hast" on all the time. Buff your group. Find enemies by scouting invisible, so they do not find you first.
But i must admit, after every bigger fight i kinda needed to rest to get all the needed spells back. Bring in a LOT of camping supplies there. I had like 80.

And yes: its damn difficult there. And i played on normal.

o_O We must be playing different games. They were failing 9 saving rolls of 10 for me. They were the easiest enemy in the game to me because of that, easier than Thylacins, insta-dying in a dozen per round. I wonder if one of the patches did something if yours Disrupting Weapons have no effect.
