Also wondering this. I have a quest that implies that I SHOULD be able to do this, I've built one other city, I've used every buidling slot I can.

Anybody know?

Cheers

Likely have to progress through the Troll Troubles main quest first -- that will give you your first Treasurer, and I would imagine that upgrading to a Town won't be possible before all 5 vital advisory posts are manned.

Especially since the tooltips say that the Treasurer were the most important advisor due to their influence on the economy of your entire realm.

Ya, think so. You have to continue the mainquests (or Kingdom Quests)
You need to own three areas. then you can upgrade it to town. dont know about the new advisors yet though

i got adviser 6 by progressing through the story. im at the start of chapter 3 now. could also be that your kingdom stats need to be really high.

Any got a sure answer for this?

I tried to speedrun, finished the troll event upgraded my advicors positions(Atleast the normal 5) pretty high. Got a lot of regions under my belt and still wasn't able to upgrade anything. In the end neglecting all the other quests that poped up, forced me to put it to auto. No matter what I did I was always overwhelmed with the problems that came in masses and I didn't have enough advisors to deal with all of them(Even if I did new ones would pop before they can manage to get back) Don't do that kids!

yeah, the managment needs some work to be sure. but i would be carefull with putting it on auto: this can lead to even more severe problems, since the AI does some very weird things -> try easy first. also currently some of the main-problems (trolls, bloom) seem to have some bugs attached: neverending event/problem spam.

You need to have 3 villages with I think 6+ building each and then your capital gets upgraded to town. After you have 3 more villages you can upgrade a village of your choosing. = When you get the 5 base areas + your starting area you will have 2 towns.

You need 3 towns to have a city.

Regarding Advisors you need to have Rank III basic functions and your advisor tells you he needs help. some functions like diplomat probably need some time (got a spy after relation was III + 67)

You scaring me right now and I was playing on easy.. In any case it did say you can never lose on auto(But I decided to just use that save for tests and speed. I can't test the managment anymore but...).

And that bring me to my next question... how do I get more villages?

Each territory can only have 1 villiage, and you can only add new territories at certain points in the game, claiming a new territory requires more build points each one that its unlocked, it can get expensive later on. Building a villiage in a territory cost 50 build points though.

You get one village in each region you control. Once you have three villages, which are fully built up, you can advance one village to town.

First time you do this, it must be your capital.

This is how you do it, the definitive list:

-- Found a Capital
-- Progress through story until you can annex two more regions
-- Annex those two regions
-- Build a village each in those two regions
-- Now return to Capital **and skip a day or rest for 24 hours for the quest to trigger**
-- Receive quest and thereby power to upgrade your Capital from Village -> Town

Okay, I am far from an expert, but I have a theory. I've resisted claiming a third region because I already have enough problems that my 5 advisors can barely or can't keep up. I assumed I needed another advisor before I claimed a third region because I figured another region would lead to even more problems.

Will solving troll problems give me a treasurer advisor? I heard the gnome and Oleg are candidates? How do I convince them?
