No one wants to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ play a simulator that doesn't even simulate anywhere close to reality and this game does just that. You're slow for absurd reasons like wearing armor that IRL doesn't slow you down what so ever.
Plus the bugs you'll just be walking for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason anyway because the game is broke but some of it is them actually putting that garbage int here on purpose lol...
Wearing chainmail? welp -10 speed even though if you actually have some real mail armor you know you can literally go all day with it on at 0 penalty. Divers with sharks even swim with it on all day. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious how dumb this is.
In the military we run and do combat excercises on with our armor all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ time in training and the people without it don't go so much faster than you as this game would show...it's absurd.
No that isn't heavy and no it doesn't. I'm not asking you any questions I'm making a statement of fact.
40 pounds distributed across your body is nothing, especially with a belt on, which you wear when wearing it. You can find many YT videos of people in it and racing. You are incorrect.
Also I'm in the military and yet another fact....our modern armor wears heavier than chainmail because of weight distribution and our body armor weighs less than the mail I have. Neither are a hindrance.
Try again.
That's just the point though, I'm not big or particularly strong. Making my point even more for me.
Armor requires little strength.
It's much harder to operate some of the weaponry as a matter of fact.(due to leverage and such).
The thing it does do though which is also in this game because if it's annoying it's in this game. Is that you get tired quicker until you've trained enoughin it.
More to the point...aren't my fighters ♥♥♥♥♥♥ trained fighters? as in...don't they train with their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ armor and weapons?
Cool so why the ♥♥♥♥ are they so inept with them that they can't move and get tired as easily as anyone using these tools? dumb that's why
alt-tab twice (if playing windowed) then space
The cause seems to be that every so often the game will engage the shift key automatically without it being pressed. When you press Shift+Space, you engage tactical time flow. So if the game has decided it wants to press the shift key and you pause or press space to advance dialogue, you'll come back to the game with it running slow. Just press V then space. This will return the game to normal speed.
as far as i'm aware it's not really the weight but a simulation of it's impact on coordination. it's overall mass requires you to put more effort into starting and stopping.
Remember Chain mail armor is a full set of armor not a chain shirt. it's the armor, plating to stop stabs(around the stomach) and probably cowl and helmet, all with the under padding
Apparently the game uses an older version of Anti-aliasing that makes even the most robust hardware choke after only a short time.
I turned AA completely off and all other settings are maxxed out and my game runs perfectly now. Some people can get away with 2x AA. Hope this helps everyone
It takes some adjusting. It stopped bothering me around the time I got to Oleg's, but it still very much feels slow to me.
The problem is actually the game sometimes for some reason thinks the Shift key is being pressed when it's not. And since Tactical Time Flow is by default bound to Shift+Space, when you pause or unpause with Space when the game thinks the Shift key is sticking it activates Tactical Time Flow. I unbound Shift+Space for Tactical Time Flow and it seemed to have fixed the problem.
This game is kind of weird in that in order to select or deselect multiple characters you press Shift, and not Ctrl like most other games. I realized that the game sometimes thinks the Shift key is sticking because one time when I tried to select a single character, it just deselected that character from the group. Exactly what would have happened if I clicked the character while pressing Shift.
Another odd thing about this bug is that it never used to happen until I entered "-popupwindow" in the launch options, because I use dual monitors. After I did that, the bug happened pretty much every other time I entered combat. So maybe it has something to do with that.
