The third dwarven cog?

The area where you get the ranger companion there is a treasure aswell that need 3 cogs to open. i found two of them there. But where is the third?

You can gain one by helping some rangers trapped on a high rock surrounded by wolves in the southeast part of the map.

Another is on a bandit corpse in the southwestern part of the map.

Finally, one can be gained by going into a collapsed dwarven tower south of the Dwarven cache, and succeeding at a storybook event.

The tower one was tricky for me to find, because it doesn't appear through the fog of war until you go inside it. For reference, it's near where the party fought some spiders, and you might have succeeded at a check to climb some broken stairs nearby.

The black cog is missing for me. I looted the chest in the watch tower which it is meant to be inside. Anyone else have this problem and will it stop me from advancing?

Have you tried to open the statue anyway. because i couldnt find it in my inventory. but i worked anyway after i opened the chest. otherwise you might have missed another cog.

It's also not black, but red. You also need to have Harrim in your party.

I got all the cogs as described by Holly without Harim.

I doubt it will stop you from advancing. I think you'll just miss out on a little bit of treasure. IIRC it had a full plate +1 among some other stuff. Unfortunately for me I had just recently bought a full plate +1 and it was overburdening me so I just threw it away instead of trying to sell it.

I just did it, the loot is Full Plate +1, Belt of Physical Perfection (+2 to Str, Dex, & Con), Recipe for Onion Soup, and some gold. Well worth finding all the cogs imo

Found all three (at least found the one that really is to be found, lower left) and had both other events and still, the red one is missing from my inventory. :-/

edit: My bad, I was too thick to notice that you had to actually, like, open the chest after the story event in the tower. D'uh.

The tower is annoying because you can very easily miss it due to fog of war and when you solve the storybook encounter it describes you taking the items from the chest, but you actually have to loot it yourself afterwards
