Greater Owlbear-like Treant

Don't wanna spoil or anything, but a mission with flower basically, its story mission. Who got there knows what I mean. Two small owlbears spawn and this thing with them. It is like, immortal. Fight is not hard, but he can't die, it falls down unconscious and regains health. Maybe there is something that can kill them like acid kills trolls but I've didn't read it properly. So anyone gotta clue how to defeat this badboy?

i recruited sorcere merchenary for this boss man with lots of fire magic and still i barely defeated him on my 10th try

Bring flasks always.

On medium I used maybe 5 flasks and my sorcerrer usex fire cone spell 4 times. This was done at level 2.

How is that even possible? My characters are lvl 8 on medium difficulty and I'm barely even able to do damage to it. It takes almost my whole party to down him even with flasks and fire spells. Now I cant even get out of the bloom without rolling to an earlier save.

I feel like this fight should be MUCH eaiser (or remove the treatant all together) when it is on easy.

You have to split your party so you are already weakened. Since you don't know what is coming you may not have any fire users in your squad you pick and scrolls/potions etc barely scratch it.

This fight, and this game, is so stupid. Thing has ridiculous AC, ridiculous to hit, will saves vs everything I throw at it, has a stupid amount of HP - I unload all of my fireballs and he still has a ♥♥♥♥ ton of HP left. And he hits for near 50 HP each swing. That basically 3 shots my tank, maybe 4 or 5 hits total if I waste all my healer's time trying to heal - but then that leaves you with just 2 characters trying to take this retarded thing down.

He must be thinking of a different treat. Flasks do like 5, maybe 10 at most, damage to this guy which is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compared to his HP pool.

Yeah, I used 5x acid flasks, x5 fireball scrolls, and x2 of the acid scrolls or whatever, maybe went down to half health.

You have the opportunity to fully buff for the fight and it starts far enough away to land some early attacks or debuffs. BTW, you don't need to split the party 3 & 3. The fight with the treant is a lot harder, I sent Octavia to solo through the portal and the treant is manageable with 5 characters.

dude thank you so much damn much. I was doing the 3/3 split tank/dps/healer I was dying to the treant over and over. I went tank valeria or w/e and octavia through, loaded the rest of my team up with fire and acid flaskes and just started chunking. even had Kundayo (ranger) in the treant group so he could go to town with his pet.

It was like night and day how much easier it was. yeah he has a crazy hp pool, but with my pally, knok (rogue), Tristian (cleric), and Kundayo I got through it, the fight ont he other side with Valeria and Octavia is a cake walk, then the rest of the group joins and its gg after that.
Again thanks so much as i'd searching like mad for some scrap to help me out.

And yes you don't have to insta fight. when gnome walks in take the bottom choice that = to i'll talk to you later, and you can rest up.

Yeah, I ended up eventually beating this fight by taking the advice "don't need to split the parts 3 & 3". I went 4 and 2 instead with an extra tank for the owlbear and then it was a much easier fight.

I did a 3x3 split. The bear is quite easy, just kite it around and bombard it with spells, scrolls, wands whatever. Going melee is like suicide.

Octavia and ray of fire was how i managed it, on top of spamming snowball it's a really silly fight though i dont think you are ever meant to go into melee it has a really slow movement speed and after val went down i just ited it around them map while pausing to que up spells. It's a pretty stupid boss though one that probably needs its AC knocked down a peg. The biggest issue with this boss is you cant hit the SOB which is dumb considering he is super slow he should be easy to hit offset by his DR and regen not his AC.

However if you want one person who makes it easy, Jubalist or however you spell his name. His bombs do good damage on top of bein acid or fire, i've slotted him in for my rogue and works pretty well despite the lack of trap finding. Might replace him with nok nok might now i really like his explosives.
