Was there any way to keep Kressle from dying?

I finally defeated the staglord, and Kressle gets herself killed by an owlbear. Didn't even join the fight when I was down to a my dude and Linzi. Then runs straight into an owlbear that came out of no where.

Worse, I saved over her death, and I am not doing that entire fight again...

I've saved her every run. Tell her not to attack and wait for your signal, wipe out all the bandits you can before you attack the Stag Lord and either befriend or kill the Owlbear in the cage before the fight. You'll have to take out the Stag Lord kind of quickly since he cuts through the bandits pretty fast, but it's possible.

if you can manage it. get past the main buildig and before the battle put a fighter up on that wooden deck the stag lord appears on. nothing makes it easier than an raged, buffed, enlarged barbarian shoveing an oversized sword down his throat as he shoots
