If you want to go Conjuration then summons are inevitably going to be a big draw for Conjuration. That means Spell Focus (Conjuration) and Augment Summon Monster. If, however, you want to avoid that, there ARE some solid spells that you can use to blow stuff up with Conjuration. But Summons are a really powerful path in Pathfinder.
Wizards can also make solid buff machines. Memorize buffs, slap on party martials, let martials have at it = time honored tradition of the pathologically lazy wizard.
Really, it's hard to go wrong with a wizard.

Make sure you pick up Mage Armor and Shield so you can tank some of the early enemies with the piss poor excuses for companions they give you (some of them are borderline okay but Valerie looks like she was made by a player who was purposefully trying to gimp themselves). Mage Armor in particular is great since it has an hour per caster level duration. I haven't gotten far enough to really say what feats would be good for you. Assuming they work together, picking up shield proficiency and the spell failure reduction feat look like they could be a solid defensive combo. I'm not sure if you can cast in combat expertise mode (like NWN), but you can cast in defensive fighting mode (so if you invest a bit in mobility you can get a nice +3 bonus to AC while casting spells). Extend spell is pretty much a must with the resting rules they have in place. Maximize and Empower are probably also solid choices.
I do know the enemies I'm fighting right now already have their low saves in the teens, so I think that spell focus is a waste (if your spell has a 15% chance of working as opposed to 10%, you're still better off casting something else). For that matter I'm not sure if it's better to go for int 24 or int 20, dex 22. It also means that speccing for disables isn't a good idea, unless you feel like save scumming until your opponent rolls a 1.
