"Medium range" my ass
Base range of a close spell is 25' in Pathfinder. Base range of a medium spell is supposed to be 100'... but in Pathfinder: Kingmaker it's almost the same as short range. The 2nd level spell Stone Call has a 40' radius and in this game I can only cast it without damaging myself if I stand on the very edge of my cast range circle (and hope the targetted enemy doesn't move during the time it takes for me to finish casting -- thanks, real-time system). The range of "medium" range spells is just too damn short. I don't know how they didn't catch this during testing..

From what ive read they didnt listen to the testers at all about anything. Which is a shame as i was reallylooking forward to this but after some research i think im gonna pass

The radius of some of the aoe spells is kinda ridiculous. I don't know in what situation you need a 40 radius of rocks raining down lol.

That's awful.. why even bother testing then

Modern game development practices are supposed to be all about iterative design through testing

Absolutely agree. I'd be fine with a nerfed AoE radius on Stone Call here. The fun in playing a spellcaster comes from the satisfaction of using your limited spells in an efficient manner, and being practically unable to cast Stone Call without damaging yourself clearly runs counter to that

Right? I was hoping for some links to these sources that claim they didn't listen they PAID them to do.

Sigh, maybe I should have taken Glitterdust instead

Well, apparently I can target a point on the ground instead of a creature, despite the spell's description in-game telling me that the effect is centered around a target creature. So I suppose Stone Call isn't totally unusable after all. Still I can only consider this a temporary workaround
