How do you expect to defeat and enemie with a lv 3 group who has an ac of 35 and a DR 10?
I found a deserted camp, some corpses around, and the camp tells me i could rest there.
Ok was need of an rest, but did not get it. Was attacked by it seemed a named wisp count forget the name.
My only chance in this fight was to switch to max easy storymode. It tooks me over 10 min to take this guy down (only amiri with a crit could hit and dmg him, and and acid splash which hit sometimes from one of my mages). And what was the reward?
135 crap ep and a stupid diamond gem. Most disappointing part so far. But really ac35 in chapter one, only a crit could hit this guy. And he hits 20+ ac nearly every time.

You're not. All the corpses and such around it are a dead giveaway that 'something wicked this way comes'. Come back to the fight later and spank the Viscount. He's a demi-lich.Diamonds are needed for some later level spells, btw.

yes at least there is a warning, but on story (first try with normal enemie streng was fast over) mode with some patience it was possible, but took over 10 min.

Actually from PF table top experience, Wisps is a bane of low level chars. We at LVL2 was forced to retreat. But 35AC feels a little off....

It's not a wisp... It's a demi-lich. :)

really? for this he is a little to weak, i mean he is not awaken at least. He cast no spells. But Cr 14 is not for a lv 3 group to beat. I think they change the stats and give him more armor but weaken his other abilities. You can discover the Ac of an enemie if you look on the attack were it is missing ore hit. And it was AC 35.

All I got is 'well, he turned me into a newt!' and 'I got better!'.

Not all demi-lich are created equal, though. I suspect there's a bit more to that monster than I personally am aware of. :)

Normal demilich is Cr14 but has only AC 25 but awesome DR 20 which is only break by a vorpal wapon. And around 140 hp of course. So maybe a weaker form ore a stronger wisp cause it is a flying skull with blue light and he does some kind of elektro dmg.

I could be wrong, honestly. It might just be a juiced up will-o-wisp.. But I *was* able to damage it with spells, and will-o-wisp are totally immune to magic, so I leaned more towards demilich in my head.

Demilich should have a damage reduction too (and very strong one). So even with crits 2lvl chars simply lack weapons to deal any damage to demi-lich even if he's forget completely how to use his spells :)

But, but, but, you have that one in a million chance for Amiri to crit with her gigantic sword! lol :)

A normal Wisp has an AC of 26, is immune to magic (except Magic Missile and Maze) and does not have damage reduction. As it was named, it must be a sidestory-encounter.

AC35 is a bit much..but interstingly you can bring a wisp down easiely with magic missile, weapons and Resist Energy on your front fighters (Resist energy is a spell level 2 spell). A wisp only deals electricity damage, so it can't really hurt you much when running with resist energy.

Also: Spells that have the signator "Spell Resistance: NO" can be used as well. A good spell is "Stone Call" which deals "ok" damage, is a low level spell, but the Wisp can't do much against it.

I think it was a wisp, you can harm them with magic missiles and labyrint (a lv 8 spell lol) this does work, all other does not work if it could stop from resistance. Thats why the touch lv 0 does dmg, but he is small and has a high AC aigans such an attack.

Yes..we brought down 7 wisps in a homebrew campaign, just by using stone call, magic missile and Resist Energy..i think we all were level 4, but good tactics and prep helped to make this encounter a high-XP non-event ;)
