Alchemist can't ground target with bombs?

I can see the reason for it due to how it needs to do a hit calculation, but I feel like that's already included in the scatter chance. Am I missing a modifier key?

Press ctrl and check? if you turned on the options to make spells with aoe be targeted in the game options that might be it.

I've just given it a try, despite what the option says it CTRL does nothing. I suspect they aren't counted as spells and thus the option ignores them

It's pretty much impossible to finish starting area on challenging difficulty without free targeting! Hate friendly fire without ability to target ground.

As alchemist you MUST get perk that remove friendly fire from bombs. It's 100% your fault if you did not pick it. It's available as early as level 2.

PS: also do not play on anything above "Hard". Game is not balanced in "Challenge" difficulty.

yeah, because it's just normal to not be able to target the ground with a bomb? It's more hit the wall with an hidden restriction that make no sens.

And Zazaiel is talking about first area, where you're level 1. Even as a grenadier you don't get the feat at this level. That make alchemist bombs not that usefull.
