Wizard Familiar
I know the game has just come out, so this might be difficult to answer but....
Does anyone know if the Wizard familiar gets more useful skills or abilities later levels?
From looking at the character creation, it looks like the item option (get back 1 spell per day) is far superior.
Any advice?

PS. Devs, nicely done, loving the game so far!

I'd say the stat benefits for a familiar are not inconsequential. Alertness and essentially the equivalent of a skill focus or improved save feat can be meaningful to a lot of builds.

Good point but I'm thinking perhaps the extra spell might be better for me, as long as the other familiars don't get better later.
I guess I could play 2 Wizards and find out that way :)

Well there is the Hare Familiar you get +4 on initiative good best if you go Arcane Trickster

The "extra spell" is extra powerful because it can be any spell in your spellbook. Need invisibility but didn't memorise it? Just alter your "spells to memorise on rest" and use the item to make it available.

I really love lizard because it gives AC :steamhappy: But i'm not the best optimizer out there.

But isn't it once per day? Familiar bonus is always active.
I wish familiars were like in NWN games. I had a pixie who was rogue and could open locks and disarm traps.
