She's from the Realm of the Mammoth Lords. Basically Ayla from Clan of the Cave Bear (the novel). The Kellids (native people of the Realm of the Mammoth Lords) are somewhere between cave men and Cimmerians (conan's people) in terms of culture and technology. There are a lot of dinosaurs in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords. Amiri probably thinks most of the people in the River Kingdoms are complete softies compared to what she's used to back home.
I perfer silent types myself, but i just can't ignore how adorable her voice are. Listening to it is a real pleasure, one that i will never have irl, so i enjoy it as much as i can. I wish only that the game was fully voiced, but... Maybe in definitive edition or something like that.
I guess you don't play in/read about many Fantasy settings then, because thats what Halflings are pretty much always like.
Well, it seems to me that her intelligence is displayed wrong.
I suppose its maybe 7... or 6... or -1.
Conan the Barbarian is a shining beacon of wit compared to her.
Nihilistic love to Harrim thou.
She doesn't give a *&$% if you like it or not. Gotta respect that. And if you don't, well she doesn't care.
She's also an interesting deconstruction of the strong, independent woman trope. She plays it up like she's this big and imposing woman who doesn't need men in her life but she is also a liar.
It's fun having her and Linzi travel with the party and Amiri complaining to Linzi why she doesn't believe her, or how Linzi lists animals that Amiri killed and points out that it is a fiction with Amiri going "I can totally kill them, just need to find them first."
It's established fairly early on that her words can't actually be trusted. Her whole story with the sword is a giant fabrication.
She was treated like crap by her tribe and they did try to kill her because they felt she was embarrassing them in front of other tribes, but Amiri is nowhere near as skilled or as awesome as she portrays herself to be either. She's putting up a front.
That’s a liche’s job.
