Agility - chance to hit from many spells(tooltip), whats about agility for mage? Its defence, saves and hit for spells. How many spells affected?

for wizards the only sats that matter are intelligence (all spellcasting), constitution (life expectancy) and dexterity (life expectancy) in that order. All other attributes do not matter. Charisma can be dumped entirely, as can strength.

for sorcerers it is exactly the same, only Charisma instead of intelligence.

Str is important for Universality mage, Main skill - trow weapon damage from str.

If your mage is focused on melee damage with a weapon, something went wrong somewhere along the way in your build.
I'd keep dexterity at 12 to 14 (no more) for a mage. Then you have a modest ac bonus and you occasionally hit while shooting/ throwing at the enemy.

eh... I usually go 16 and if a elf, 18. The ac is ok when mixed with spells to up ac. But, mostly its for the rays. Really sucks when you cant hit those touch attacks. Not everything is a easy to hit on a touch attack.

Personally put those extra points in the main spellcasting stat to raise my Dc mostly.

Make an Elf, start with an 18 Dex and 19 Int. On the lower difficulties go for Int so you can raise your DCs, on the higher difficulty levels go for Dex since the enemies aren't going to fail a save ( unless you hack your character and give them a 50 Int or something like that), so you might as well make them into an EK and chase a high touch AB.
