How do we fix it?

Set the launch options for the game in steam to have -popupwindow and then launch the game and put pathfinder in window mode, apply and then exit. Relaunch Pathfinder and it should work. This is a workaround until they get there side fixed.

P.S. To set the lauch options right-click on pathfinder in steam and select properties. On the General tab you will see a button called launch options.

Isn't there an option about not scrolling out of the borderless screen in the menu options?

I was searching for some solutions tonight when the game wouldn't load. It would get to the end of the progress bar and hang. I had this problem one time before, right after I installed some portraits. For one, don't drop these folders into the unity mod manager as usual. Go to the user files, name, local low, owlcat games, pathfinder, portraits and unpack there. Anyway, when I tried to move one folder in as a test, I noticed the game then created folders for 0001 all the way up to 0005 after I had run it (game had started crashing, I went back and traced the last known change to find this). I deleted all but the 0001 directory, and the game was able to load again.

Tonight, I was going about my business, burning that damn bloom flower, when the game crashed on me. Subsequent load attempts failed. After fruitlessly trying some of these things, I went back and checked my portrait folder. Again, I had a 0002 file folder, with the three blanks you will find in the original 0001 folder. I deleted this. I also went through and found one folder that had four images. Deleted that. Afterwards, the game was able to load again.

Anyway, this solved my issue. Maybe this will help someone else.

One other note: Right before the game crapped out, I saw dialog repeating itself three times in the text box, telling me I had picked up the same thing three times.

As I just started another play through on my new PC I completely forgot about this so glad you commented and brought it to the from page again. :) Been wondering why it kept minimising when I know It didn't do that a few years ago on my first round.
