Spider Swarm Enemy
Is it just me who's having trouble fighting the spider swarms in the fangberry cave? I've been wiping the floor with all the other enemies I've fought against and now my party is just getting wiped out by spiders I can't even seem to damage.

You can't kill swarms with normal attacks, you need to use area attacks. Either magical or alchemist flasks. Which is pretty annoying at that stage of the game, if you happen to be a two-handed fighter stuck with another two-handed fighter, a tower shield fighter, and a bard.

You can only damage swarms with aoe spells or granades maybe with the torch aswell
in game help tip mentioned the torch, but the first time i tried this they killed me as well.
killed one swarm with burning hands though.

Swarms are immune to weapon damage or spells that target specific things. I believe they take extra damage from AoE attacks though. Grab some alchemist fire/acid from Bokken.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I didnt realise they where immune to standard attacks. That explains a lot XD
Its still rather ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the start of the game though. These flasks and torches are barely doing anything.
Yeah I've tried a flask, torch, and acid spray combo and can barely destroy one swarm. Guess I'll come back at a later level. :p
N1 to know. Was there a tipp or something like that? Or is that like an try and error feature? ^^

Really neat of them to put an enemy that is immune to melee and ranged in the first ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sidequest and then not even give you a hint how to beat it.

Can confirm that the spider swarms are not taking the 50% extra damage they are supposed to take from AoE attacks in Pathfinder rules. Even with stacking the swarms up on a melee fighter and then unloading three burning hands spells, two acid flasks and an alchemist's fire, I only managed to kill one swarm before being out of resources. And surprise, when you kill the first swarm a third swarm and a second giant spider enter the fight.

Made a account on the game forums to ask about the bonus damage issue, but seems like new accounts are being auto-banned and can't post anything

Needs more Raid!
Bumping again for visibility. The giant spiders are super easy and the swarms are impossible at the appropriate level even with the recommended tactics.

I died on the last swarm it having 1 hp left.. Big arse bummer, but mass spamming cantrip ice ray gets hits in with melee folk wacking around with torches.

But then my save up and died or iron man needs some extra details on wtf it means when you select it in case it also deletes the file or something since there is no mention of it.
That point was the first time I died. (Playing on normal diffeculty with a few ajustmens to harder and easer mechanics) I got so annoyed with those creatures. I didn't had a mage in my team that time and after Amiri was the last woman standing and they fought for like 10 minutes with no hit on both sides I put this quest aside and did something else first.

Now I have Regongar with me and those little beasts will see their death realy sooon. Muahahah! >:D
