Any way to test a build?
Without having to go through the whole tutorial area. I don't know anything about Pathfinder, and my knowledge of tabletop games is almost zilch, so with so many options I want to experiment, but it takes an incredibly long time to get through all of these options...

The only way is use cheat engine or app from nexus mods to adjust exp.

You can adjust your XP by simply editing your save (unzipping it) and changing it in party.json.

I downloaded a save editor there's one on nexus. Under kingmaker

Sidenote: someone added a goblin race.

Start a game, choose basics, and right before the sword lord talks I edit the save reload and try different builds. I set xp to 400k get to lvl 15 I think.

This program works great for me atleast, just add xp, and level to see what it ends up as.

Or you could just ask on the boards about input for a build / idea you had.

So you guys are trying your build by leveling to 15 with a cheat engine and then what? testing by fighting level 2 wolves outside? I don't see how this is helpful, you need to be able to test on monsters your level...

To me atleast, it's not about combat effectiveness testing, but more of a framework? testing to see ingame what it will become with class x and y with feat z, and to check that the "idea" works in game\theory.

You could do the same on paper, but doing it ingame takes into account all the game peculiarities.

Cant do it on paper yet because bugs.

What should work doesn't normaly work, or in this game, what should work normaly does not work.

You might be able to ask someone who is rich at end game to share their save file with you.

That way you could load their save and buy a custom companion at high level.

I found out threw testing that a fighter dip isn't necessary for a Eldritch knight. A feat in martial Prof. Gives you what you need when in pnp a dip was required.

I also use it to find out what spells are available at higher lvl. I thought shadow conjuriation was in the game. But turns out only shadow evocation is available and only covers 4 spells 😭

There's also almost no info on what spells each class gets at the later levels.
