Its a prestige class, you can't pick that at character creation. It has prequisites you need to have to pick it when you level up, so you can't really pick it before level 6.

What class you will advise for transition on duelist later?

I want to know too..

If you mouse over a prestige class it will show what the requirements are.

For Duelist, you need Mobility 2, Dodge, Mobility Training, Weapon Finesse and +6 attack I believe. Can start with any class you want as long as you get all that.

I haven't really checked how CRPG version of duelist works, but if its anything like the P&P version, Fighter or Rogue I guess. Duelist is more about dexterity though, so dex based melee classes work better with it.

Rogue and Bard both build well into the Duelist. Just remember to aquire Mobility: 2, weapon finess, dodge, combat mobility, and a base attack bounus of 6

Yeah, I'm working towards a duelist too - made a rogue to start with, and got most requirements covered at level 2 already, just need to pick up combat mobility for the next feat and wait until I got 6 BAB. Seems a good fit so far.

I have a lvl2 rogue and fullfill all requirements except the BAB. My Char have a BaB of 1... How do i get more? every lvl up or do i have to skill something special?

just level up.
prestige classes are limited to 10 levels anyway, so as long as you dont go over 10 in your base class its fine.

ok thanks.
is a Rogue/Fighter mix viable for a duelist? zb 5 lvls on rogue and 5 lvl on Fighter? or are 10 lvl in the base class recommended?

Yep
I'd suggest to speed things up by taking a couple levels Fighter, as they get +1 BAB each level, Rogues only +2/3 levels

great. i considered to take some fighter lvl anyway ;-)

The Aldori Defender is probably the easiest class to transition to Duelist with. They're allowed to use their Dueling Swords as if it were a light piercing weapon instead of a heavy slashing sword, letting them take Weapon Finesse and then Slashing Grace. Rogues can have a little more versatility in their early feat selection since they start with Weapon Finesse and get Finesse Training, but can't transition to Duelist until later than a fighter could, and don't get some of the Fighter's feat options (a tradeoff for the extra Sneak Attack damage).

I went a mix of Rogue and Fighter/ Aldori Defender. I took a Rogue level first for sneak attack (2d6) and for the large number of skill points they get. Then switched to fighter/ Aldori Defender for the BAB (Base Attack Bonus) and alternated between the two until I hit 6 BAB.

My only concern is that now I'm level 12 I'm seeing a lot of cross over in the Duelist skills and the Aldori Defender class skills and I'm not sure they work well together from a min max point of view.

In hindsight I'd still go Rogue/ Fighter but probably not Aldori Defender.
