Strength Damage
So does anyone know if there is a way to remove Strength damage? My main character lost 2 strength from a fight (i think the fangberry one) and even after resting is stuck with the "permanent" debuff.

I haven't gotten very far into the game yet ( just made my character) but I think either a cleric or a wizard should be able to help. Maybe a cure disease or restoration or something to that effect. Play around with the spells.

lesser restoration should work. Might need more than one use if strength damage is a lot (e.g. after spider figtht)(

Spell, scroll or potion of restoration Indeed. You are going to lose attribute points pretty often, so you better get used to it ;-)

"Permanent" means it doesn't go away after a set time, not that it can't be removed. Ability damage heals during rests, but not reliably (your charater makes a check that might fail). Any Restoration spell works too.
Ability DRAIN can only be healed with Restoration (not lesser) spell or something more powerful, but you won't see it in the early game.

Fangberry cave is pretty early. Spider swarms do permanent strength damage, and unless I'm mistaken the only way to get rid of it is a restoration scroll? Thats 700 G per character. Thats a little ridiculous for a quest that gives such poor rewards. Not to mention the fact that the swarms themselves are really difficult to deal with at that early level.

Having played this some at work and researched the same issue.... if you rest at an inn (Oleg's works) the damage will go away.

I rested at the inn and the Strength damage did not go away. Feels like old school ADnD hard mode. But I did set it to normal and I guess thats how the game is supposed to be played.

If you notice in your log each time you rest it will mention that someone has regained a strength. Just keep sleeping in the bed at Olegs until all your characters have poassed the check and gone back to normal.

I just slept once at Oleg's Inn and the permanent strenght injury was still there. I slept again and it was gone. I can confirm what LunchBoxBully said.

In the options / difficulty settings, you can enable to heal negative status effects during rests. that "fixes" this problem more or less.

Use Dedly Poison spell to your tank. It prevent poison based attack
