Battle cleric build
Hey I was thinking of doing a melee(with reach weapons if they any good) cleric with a single level dip in fighter for martial weapons/armor. What are some good feats and stat distributions to be using? I have only played DnD 3.5 not pathfinder so I dont know any of the feats but I know clerics dont have heavy armor anymore in base cleirc.

You might try the Crusader archetype.

I was looking at it but people were saying it only gives feats with your diety's weapon and I kinda wanted to try all sorts of weapons on my first run. I kinda want to do something more exciting than just use a longsword( going Iomaeda btw) all day. I wanna try a glaive and greatsword as well.

Also do reach weapons work in the non-turn based style of the game since they were big on 5ft steps and AoO?

I'm planning more or less the same. Cleric with one level of fighter. Will go with fighter at first level and then cleric all the way to the end. Think I'll loose out on a level 8 and a level 9 spell, but I think that it is worth it, to me at least. I'm not certain, but i don't think you need a higher wis than 20 ( or 19 to be specific), as far as I know you don't gain much more by going higher.

I'm going for an Aasimar

Str 16
Dex 12
Con 14*
Int 12
Wis 17*
Cha 12

* is including the +2 stat bonus for Aasimar.

I don't think this is the best build for a cleric, but I think it will work just good enough to be fun. I know the low charisma will mean that I can't choose selective healing, but I'll manage. If anyone sees any big flaws in my build, please comment, not to late to change it yet :-)

I was planning on doing the fighter dip at second level just in case there is dialouge that is based around what your class is and I want to be a cleric above all. Question though any reason for having your dex and int that high? is it a feat thing? again I dont know pathfinder

For Int I want to have a skillpoint every other level. For dex it's just to have a higher AC. Don't think any off them will give me the option to pick a special feat. To take dodge you need 13 dex if i remember correctly.

There is also another reason to not have lower stats, I like to have characters that are well rounded. You could probably just lower Int to 7 and don't loose anything by it, except half a skillpoint.

Don't know if there is any class specific dialoge at the beginning, perhaps somebody who have played the beta could tell us.

Maybe paladin is better than fighter.

The game is close enough that you can look at the guides people have made over the years, just keep in mind that not all feats and class options work directly the same but the framework is close enough that you can fill in the gaps. I suggest Tark's big holy book of clerical optimization[docs.google.com]
