Ranger pet dead?
I was under the impression that ranger's pets cannot die, that it goes unconscious and gets back up after the fight... Well it did not get up after my last fight. Is this a bug or they can actually die?

Take a rest. I have 4 pets in my team and they never died permanently.

I just loaded a save, but still curious was that a bug or its normal? Like at some point they won't get back up and you need to rest to make him work again?

I thought pets were under the same rules as companions. If you get reduce to zero HP you go down, and if someone hits you while your in the down state (usually an AOE spell) you permanently die and need a rez scroll to get back up.

its normal, it can die "permanently" until you rest at a camp, then it comes back alive

Ahh this! This is probably what happened. It happened during a fight with 3 wisps that shoot lightning all over the place. It probably got hit while on the ground already.

Nope. If a companion gets gibbed, all it takes is a rest to get them back. No ress needed.

Those are dificulty level options
Death's Door - characters (and pets) won't die whenreceive a deadly injury, they get the death's door effect. If they are hit after that, they die. Can be removed by visiting the healer at the capital or by greater restoration.
Dead companions rise after combat - it's just what it says.
Remove negative effects on rest - remove blindness, ability damage and numerous negative effects. I haven't used it yet but it might remove death door. . .

Great info, I bet you play this game as a Necromancer...
