Dueling Swords?
Right quick guys,

Are there solid options for this weapon? I do not remember and I need to know. It's sorta my pick for Finesse Training, as I don't want to go with Kukri again and I'm using a shield.

Or Light Hammer, Light Maces or handaxe, any solid options?

There are several rather nice dueling sword options in the game that are guaranteed loot if you go exploring a bit during the storyline missions. You'll find at least one in Book 3. Build and the decision to use a shield with a dueling sword notwithstanding, rest assured you will find a variety of dueling swords.

That's fine then, yeah I'm a vivisectionist teaming up with Val, 1h/shield. Damage is still godlike and getting near 11AC from having a shield is great.

simply yes. if you have the feats to spare on investing then yes. you can use finesse and slashing grace with it if you are dex based but you can likewise also take aldori duesling master for a +2 shield ac and initiative while you wield one and no other weapons.

Keep in mind a shield will give you a penalty to attack rolls when using weapon finesse.

yeah that doesn't matter at all, It's also for the shield bash which can sneak. -2 for a small shield is nothing, not with the party comp and build and stuff.

Sure you'll be able to hit? That's like a -4 penalty or more.

-2.
-4 is for large.

Yeah hitting is no problem, even on hard. Even at level 5 the hit is +8 raw with a -2 penalty calculated. Really no big deal. Besides Shield Master will follow later sorting that out entirely.

Add in +2 for bard, Barb's ferocity, Flank, Outflank. Really no concern whatsoever.

It'll be another -2 from the armor check penalty. But if it works for you great!

It's gonna be the obvious anwser but the best way to double swords is the duellist way with passive skills that will later on negates most penalty for dual wielding.

You will certainly miss a lot eary game tho without those passives, so it's kinda tricky, but since you can't pick duellist tree right away it's all good imo.

Armor check doesn't affect hit. Only various skill checks.

Weapon finesse:

Benefit: With a light weapon, elven curve blade, rapier, whip, or spiked chain made for a creature of your size category, you may use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier on attack rolls.**** If you carry a shield, its armor check penalty applies to your attack rolls.****

Found Duelist to be pretty weak, thought about taking a few points but opted for 3 points in rogue and 1 in warrior, leaving 16 for vivisectionist.

It honestly feels weak early but it's a powerhouse later on, it's exactly like dragon disciple, early levels you start regretting picking it since you lack major talents, later on tho you realize the full power of the tree.

It's all good. You mentioned shield bash so i figured you were dual weilding the dueling sword and light shield.
