Dumb (non-logical) question
Does Light Halo, Light spell, or the wareable lanterns effect stealth?

Yes I know this sounds dumb as no GM would let this happen. But this is a CRPG and I'm starting to think they don't. Just not 100% sure. So anyone know for sure?

It's difficult to really say for sure.

My gut tells me that light sources do ruin your attempt at stealth, but this is only based on extremely casual anecdote.

I only cast Light on Val or Amiri because their Stealth is trash no matter what, and I only attempt to sneak around with Octavia, Ekun or Linzi because I've invested in their Stealth (and gave them an item for +10 (wtf were they thinking with that item?!!!!) ). Val and Amiri definitely get detected immediately. My sneakers are able to move around even within quite close ranges without being detected.

Ive been toying arounds with builds and was noticing my Halo did not seem to effect the range of getting spotted. So then I tried using the light spell. And yeah sure the build has a crazy high stealth skill. But he DC in the log does not change when spotted with Halo, without, or with Light spell. So was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. No this might be a bug (shocking I know) but it also just might not have any coding for light in sleath checks.

Not even sure if stealth works in this game. We mainly get sneak attacks off flanking ppl not actually stabbing them in the back.

Don't know never really use stealth for sneak attacks since flanking is king here. I use it mostly to setup alpha strikes. Moving people around and getting them as close to spell casters as I can. Ideally close enough to do a charge or something.

If your trying to use stealth for sneak attacks in kingmaker you are kind of wasting your time.

I would imagine that yes having a giant glowing circle floating above your head might make sneaking a little bit harder.

lol Yes that would be the logical path. But at least in my testing it does not seem to be true. Was just wondering if anyone else has messed with this in game? and was wondering if that was a feature or a bug.

Actually, in order to perform perception check your opponent must be able to see you.
total darkness = no perception checks, unless enemy has nighvision or whatever it's called

Just that (in the actual P&P at least) perception isnt solely based on visual sense. Thats why ACP is a thing, metal plates rubbing on each other makes noises the enemy might *hear*

This is false.

In PnP gaming, perception applies to all senses. Furthermore, rogues can't stealth their way across an empty room without being seen, even with 60+ stealth. (nothing to hide behind)
