Bracers of Archery and Lesser Bracers of Archery
Both items are broken...? Neither give a Competance to Hit bonus +2 for the Bracers of Archery and +1 for Lesser version. Has no one noticed?

My only ranged weapon character uses a crossbow, and I noticed the bracers didn't apply to that weapon but that may just be because crossbows don't quallify or so I assumed.

Nope, I'm a Composite Bow Fighter, I kill stuff A LOT. Not having a +2 to hit for me and +1 to hit for Ekundayo, really matters to my game.

can confirm they do not work.

ditto, Ekun already god level, metal muncher bow doesnt get the bonuses....

there is currently a very severe bug with items that give such bonuses
they may not show up in the UI, but, each time you load the game they ADD some of the stat connstantly!
It's PERMANENT, hence I'm waitng for 1,07 patch as my ranger gets+35 damage thanks to wearing those bracers which makes the game severely unbalanced :(

Latest hotfix fixed that. There's going to be another one that will remove the extra bonuses from your affected characters but new runs will be fine.

Also about bracers:
The bonus damage seems to work, but not the bonus attack. They also let you use the bows even if you're not proficient in them so it seems it's only the attack part that's missing.

Bracers aren't supposed to give you bow proficiency....

For me they were adding the bonuses (at least to hit, I don't think I checked for damage), but they weren't showing up as a modifier on rolls or in the character sheet, just increasing the hit value.

They don't give proficiency at all. I never said they did. They let you use the bows you otherwise couldn't, e.g. my Octavia was able to use Savage Bow despite not being allowed to by default.

That's proficiency. Wtf are you talking about? If that's not proficiency what is it that you think proficiency is?

You don't get the proficiency bonus for these bows is what I'm talking about.

I've found that Octavia randomly gains proficiency with Longbows out of nowhere, bracers or no bracers.

Actually, when looking it up on the pathfinder SRD it says the bracers DO give proficiency. I don't remember it saying this in this game, though. I can't check how it works in game because I already uninstalled this garbage because I couldn't even play it anymore due to performance issues.

Description from pathfinder itself is much more clear:
These bracers look like normal protective wear. They empower the wearer to use any bow (not including crossbows) as if she were proficient in its use. If she already has proficiency with any type of bow, she gains a +2 competence bonus on attack rolls and a +1 competence bonus on damage rolls whenever using that type of bow. Both bracers must be worn for the magic to be effective.

It's still not working for me when I try to use it on any character other than my main character
