Does "Auto Kingdom Management" actually do anything?
I took that setting on the assumption that the kindom would actually... you know... manage itself. All it seems to have done is break Chapter 2. It seems that with "auto" turned on I can't access the screen to assign duties... which is the first quest in Chapter 2... and I have Kingdon destroying plagues that need that quest completed in order to finish... so I seem to be stuck watching my kingdom die a slow death and their is nothing I can do...

Well, the only think I seem to be able to do is to trun on "invincible kingdom" ... which appears to be be mandatory in "auto kingdom management"?

Bump. Can anyone confirm?

Yeah the auto kingdom part seems to be bugged atm . Its better to do it manually for now and set it to the easiest setting if you want to minimalize your involvement with the kingdom building part i guess.

Well, that is what I figured... it really really sucks that such a simple thing could be so bugged, and players won't know it until Chapter 2.

yeah and it probably would be some time before its fixed. THe devs seems to be overworked atm. They've made a lot of mistakes in recent patches that introduced new bugs while fixing others and even the no sound issue that occurred in the patch earlier today. I want the game fixed but at this rate i'm more scared for their health.

Auto kingdom does work, just not in the ways you would expect it to. For one, the first kingdom killing plague at least, when the timer runs down to destry your kingdom will simply count the quest as having been successfuly completed. However this is not the way it expects you to play. All of the kingdom quests will be automaticly resolved for you, but only when you use the 'advace to next event' option on the kingdom map in the throne room. So in the case of the first kingdom killing plague, as soon as the option to deal with it by proclemation comes up, you should use the advance to event option to prevent all of the negative kingdom stat hits. If you haven't used the advance event option at all yet you might need to do it a few times to get the adviser assigning and whatnot out of the way first.

Well, that is horribly convoluted and undocumented...

Just think of it as being a figurehead. You have others running your kingdom for you but you do need to be there to sign the documents they prepare. If you just want to hack n slash / explore its actually quite nice, since you can postpone a lot of things while you're out and about then plow through them all at once when you return.

Well, sure, I just don't see the "others" actually doing anything. Really, I just want t be ableto complete the dumb quest so it isn't in my quest log

Currently its pretty messed up, there are times when you cant finish the quest and run kingdom at same time. And forced skip days events. Also som epeople mentioned that AI can lose the game for you if you let it run your city.

I've set the kingdom in auto mode.

I keep losing kingdom quest cause i've not assigned counselor to them... but i can't assign counselor in auto mode! What i should do?

You're going to have to set the kingdom to Indestructible in options-->difficulty.

You need to click the table in the throne room and advance to next event. The AI won't do everything fo you until you tell it to, which you do by doing that.

Also in the beginning you're either missing characters to fill some of the positions or the positions are not avilable yet, so you'll have the odd quest fail even once the AI assigns everyone it can. Even with the AI running everything fo you, all of the components of your kingdom are there and doing their thing just as if you were running it yourself.
