Yeah, Shahinya or whatever crafts the Serpent Prince, a +3 corrosive Destructive fauchard. Great for crit builds.
Great, what kind of unspeakable favours do I have to do for her in order to get that... so far she has crafted her Kama for me twice.
Please add this Devs! Great suggestion Beel!
And the entire month preceding this I was actually using a mastercraft fauchard. (I don't know if the game checks for what your main character has equipped, I didn't go fauchard on this character until lvl 8-9)
This weapon is by far the best weapon I have seen at this point in the game.
+3 enchantment, corrosive and destructive (+1 crit multiplier)
And as we all know Fauchard is easily the best weaponbase possible with its default 18-20 critrange, 1d10 damage and reach... just sick.
Main problem that top-tier fauchard is crap. While other top-tier weapons (glaive, elven curved blade, etc) are awesome.
Combat Maneuvers are weak at best, enemies have too high CMD (and things get even worse on higher difficulty when you will need them more). Yes, permament FoM is only thing that can't call fauchards line - useless.
But its not a late game weapon i'd guess.
Also if you can get a Bite attack (Vivisectionist Feral Mutagen, Barbarian Beast Rage, Dragon Disciple, I guess maybe Serpentine Sorc) and Cloak of the Winter Wolf you get free Trips whenever you hit with the Bite.
But what do I know, my party is only level 9.
I had no problem disarming the lvl 19 cyclops in Saint Galvan's Gullet when I was level 10 or 11...
He had 50 CMD on challenging difficulty.
And my toon isn't even specialised for disarm, I have the basic disarm manouver.
Planning helps a lot, buff up (greater invis + true strike wand in addition to your normal buffs).
The game does throw you into ambushes from time to time though so planning isn't always possible unless you just reloaded after getting your ass handed to you...
xD xD xD
True strike is only option to build semi-reliable combat maneuvor char in Pathfinder (second one is exotic paladin feat).
Problem that it's a waste of efforts in any case.
And ambushes are never problem if you aren't trying to explore map fully on lvl 6-7 (bad idea obvuously because world is semi-open and for example - Dire Narlmarches have quite high level enemies).
That's not necessarily a bad thing, If combat manovuers *always* worked where would the challenge be?
trip works great by picking tandem trip on 2 chars at least.
I don't think it's the fault of combat manouvers that they are hard to stick so often but It's just the type of enemies you encounter, big nasty melee berserkers are hard to beat this way while you will routinely victimize spellcasters and to a lesser degree also rogues with it.
The game has mixed enemies but in some parts it certainly feels like 90%+ of the beefy berserker type.
This +5 fauchard grants its wielder continuous effect of freedom of movement spell, immunity to trip and bull rush combat maneuvers, and a +5 enhancement bonus to CMB. Whenever the wielder succussfully performs a combat maneuver, Mastery also deals damage to its target as if it landed a hit.
Serpent Prince Fauchard +3 Destructive Corrosive
This +3 corrosive fauchard has a higher critical hit multiplier.
Dark Bidding Fauchard +3 Greater Necrotic
