how do you unlock region claiming?

I figured I was being denied the ability to claim lands because I needed to reach some point in the story, but the southern narlmarch just opened up for claiming, and I haven't been able to claim any other section.

it opened when i delt with the troll problem, but what exactly do i need to do to unlock the northern narlmarches? I've walked around in there been to every zone and have pretty much all the node connections and still the region is impervious to me.

I'm level 8, you'd think i'd have been able to conquer this area. Like wise i've dealth with the village on silver lake, and cannot claim there either, what are the mysterious conditions for unlocking region claiming?

this doesn't seem to be the case from a little digging, as people are reporting them opening up in different orders.

Mine just opened up seeming out of no ware.

I read on one of the wikis that stat progression for your kingdom opens some of them also. But there’s no numbers or proof of that.

i thought it was when you cleared out an area's nodes. I just went through silverstep towards varnhold and when I got back it was open for claiming.

cleared out as in visited or as in murdered everything in them?

i got 5 areas opened but only claimed the base plus olegs area. I dont know how anyone can get more. I have NO bp with all the town buildings and search/general improvement missions I need to do.

this is why I want the curse timers removed (for easy mode) or extended a great deal, so I can get into some random battles for loot (like those hasted basass skeletons that drop +4 str belts 100% of the time. they sell for 4000 gold or 50 bp)...

i dont have varnhold, but everything I can see I did, do you have a map so I can see what I missed?

I have 8 areas. Shrike, Kamelands, Varnhold, Silverstep, South Narlmarches, Dire Narlmarches, North Narlmarches, Outskirts, Glenebon.

The oportunity to enlarge often happens after the questline continues. Or after you have explored enough, i guess.

Cloudhunter, what chapter are you in? I've Finished the Bloom challenge but have about 200 days left and my 5th slot it about to open up. (I time jumped a month to see if anything happened, then went back).

I'm wondering if I should be searching in the wild more and clearing stuff out to open more. I'm going to try and see if that will get the Dire Narlmarches open.

I have North and South Narlmarches, Oustskits, Shrike and Kamelands are about to open up.

What chapter? I had my 8 regions before the hell knights. Now is a long phase of just improving levels, sometimes interrupted with smaller quests.

I was also wondering, how unlocking a region was handled. I had a game where I had a region unlocked, and then I loaded a save game from 2 days before, because of an error, and then it was not unlocked. I did not do any quest in neither of them. And As I can recall, I discovered the same number of nodes... =/

Some regions unlock over time, I think. Others unlock after doing certain things or exploring enough.

The one example I can personally confirm is the Silverlake area. That one you're able to claim after clearing out the village on the edge of the lake. Whether it's just after killing the cyclops zombie or after beating the werewolf or both, I can't say for sure, since I end up doing both while I'm there. But you're able to claim the region after doing events in the village there.

I think the regions are tied to one of the Kingdom questlines. I just got 25 extentions to my advisors and got the next region. The next would be at 40 extentions ...

in 2 different games I had these unlock in different orders with seemingly no trigger condition for either one.

Certainly no condition the game actually deigns to tell you about.

i cleared both rather early and still had to wait to unlock it, so it's still pretty unclear.
