Can S.O explain to me about base attack ?
Ok I checked my record today, and realized my base attack jump up and down. Was this stupid system actually roll a dice for base attack, then roll another dice d20 for attack ?

Your Base Attack Bonus (BAB) is determined by your class levels. You add modifiers to that from weapons, stats, buffs etc. then you roll a d20 with all of that as bonus.

But the result showed my base attack jumped from 1 to 7.

I'm at level 7 now

If you're a level 7 Fighter, Barbarian, Ranger or Paladin your BAB is supposed to be 7. You gain 1 BAB per level. Cleric, rogues, druids get 2/3 BAB and Wizards, Sorcs and Bard get 1/2 BAB per level

Were you exausted, or have some other stat-afffecting condition?

I did not check, but does the game show the BAB modified by feat effects? When dual wielding and/or power attacking it would show lower if that was the case.

Thanks, but i know about that. What i meant was when i looked at the record during the fight. My base attack sometimes was 3, 2, 7. Then added with the feats, weapons,etc... and the d20 attack roll.

So I would like s.o to confirm whether they actually did such idiocy thing by roll our base attack ?

No, I was not effected by anything, It was the dual between Valerie and Federo. I found it weird that how did I miss so much, and looked at the record. Both base attack of Valerie and Federo jump up and down.

I thought it was suppose to be constant.

I see what you mean now, I thought you were talking about your Character sheet. I don't know the answer to that as I haven't delved into the mechanics much. If you right-click on the fight does it show your BAB plus modifiers?

Screenshots are needed here -- it shouldn't be jumping around like that, although note that the attack bonus on any given attack will vary if you have more than one attack (BAB +6 or better). The second attack will start at BAB-6 (or maybe -5?), and that will be reflected in the results for each individual attack.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

As yaldabaoth said, your base attack bonus (BAB) is based on your class and levels. For instance fighters, barbarians, rangers, paladins and i believe the monks are unchained versions so they are whats called "full BAB" classes or 1 attack bonus per level of the class. a level 2 fighter has a BAB of 2 while a fighter 9 has a BAB of 9. clerics, inquisitors, rogues, magus, druids, bards, are 3/4 BAB classes, so what that means is at level 1 they have no BAB, at level 2 they will have a BAB of 1 then at level 3 they have a BAB of 2 at levels 4 and 5 they have a BAB of 3. Finally wizards and sorcerers are what are called 1/2 BAB classes basically it means they are nowhere near as good in combat as the other versions. your BAB can only increase with level, and only decrease with negative levels so no jumping up and down. That is only one part of an attack.
The other big thing are modifiers and a 1-20 dice roll. these are what are added to your BAB to determine if you hit something.
For melee characters (except rogues) you will have a bonus or minus to hit based on Strength, size, weapon proficiency, weapon focus, size of weapon ( think amiri ginormous sword) then any magical bonuses from spells or items. most of this is a static number for the most part for bonuses and the only thing that should change is the actual dice roll.

A good example of this would be a level 3 fighter with a Strength of 16 using a +1 great sword and has weapon focus great sword. So at level 3 a fighter BAB is 3, add in +3 bonus from Strength +1 from magical item and finally +1 from weapon focus for a total of +8 on a roll of 1-20
if the enemy has an armor class (AC) of 20 you would hit on any dice rolled number of 12 or higher as you add +8 to all those rolls.

edit
ohh wow, I took way to long to type that up as a bunch of other people were answering as well

Click on the screenshot and look underneath for the URL to copy/share. Paste here in a reply. Repeat for subsequent screenshots.

Edit: This is after you upload it via the Steam Tool which can be accessed as below or just right-click a game in your library and select Screenshots, then Upload.

If you took them in Steam, via the built-in screen grabber tool, you can press "shift+tab" when the game is running to bring up the overlay, then select screenshots (lower left). It'll show you the screenshots that you've taken, click on them and select "Upload to cloud". Once the upload process has completed, click on the screenshot again and select "View only". A web browser will open within the overlay -- wait for the image to fully render, then copy and paste the URL into a new post (the URL should be the only thing on the line). Repeat this process for the second screenshot.

You can also exit the game -- if you've taken any screenshots, it will automatically bring up the screenshot manager, and you can follow the steps listed above from there.

If you took the screenshots with another tool then you'll need to find someplace to upload them and copy and paste the link here.

You get two attacks starting at level 6 for a fighter

So at level 7 you would have one swing being +7 and another being +2

If you're looking at the log you would probably being seeing both attacks, that's why it looks like it is going up and down.
