I'm at level 7 now
Were you exausted, or have some other stat-afffecting condition?
So I would like s.o to confirm whether they actually did such idiocy thing by roll our base attack ?
I thought it was suppose to be constant.
I see what you mean now, I thought you were talking about your Character sheet. I don't know the answer to that as I haven't delved into the mechanics much. If you right-click on the fight does it show your BAB plus modifiers?
The other big thing are modifiers and a 1-20 dice roll. these are what are added to your BAB to determine if you hit something.
For melee characters (except rogues) you will have a bonus or minus to hit based on Strength, size, weapon proficiency, weapon focus, size of weapon ( think amiri ginormous sword) then any magical bonuses from spells or items. most of this is a static number for the most part for bonuses and the only thing that should change is the actual dice roll.
A good example of this would be a level 3 fighter with a Strength of 16 using a +1 great sword and has weapon focus great sword. So at level 3 a fighter BAB is 3, add in +3 bonus from Strength +1 from magical item and finally +1 from weapon focus for a total of +8 on a roll of 1-20
if the enemy has an armor class (AC) of 20 you would hit on any dice rolled number of 12 or higher as you add +8 to all those rolls.
edit
ohh wow, I took way to long to type that up as a bunch of other people were answering as well
Click on the screenshot and look underneath for the URL to copy/share. Paste here in a reply. Repeat for subsequent screenshots.
Edit: This is after you upload it via the Steam Tool which can be accessed as below or just right-click a game in your library and select Screenshots, then Upload.
You can also exit the game -- if you've taken any screenshots, it will automatically bring up the screenshot manager, and you can follow the steps listed above from there.
If you took the screenshots with another tool then you'll need to find someplace to upload them and copy and paste the link here.
So at level 7 you would have one swing being +7 and another being +2
If you're looking at the log you would probably being seeing both attacks, that's why it looks like it is going up and down.
